    So 1E4 isn't on Schols? This is a pleasing realization.

    If 1e4 was on schols, we'd have no chance. I pity next year, imagine if we had a Krstic schols question :eek:

    Oh, and I posted this on the engineering facebook, really detailed look at Laplace- helped me understand it way better anyways. There's loads of them as well!

    Trying to use that SYSTEM_INFO struct to get the number of processors in my laptop (I know there are two but I just wanted to test this thing out) but VC++ doesn't want to recognise it. Thought I might need to use the "#include "windows.h"" line, but the debugger says it's already there. Any ideas?
    What I have in the main:
    SYSTEM_INFO siSysInfo;
    GetSystemInfo(&siSysInfo);
    printf("  Number of processors: %u\n", siSysInfo.dwNumberOfProcessors);

    I guess we can shut down this thread, since us clever second years have discovered this new "Reply to All" feature that emails have, and now all engineering related conversation can go through my inbox, no matter how trivial or personal the dicussion. Yay.

    I guess all second years must go through that phase.

    Ours got rather abusive at one point.

    I can imagine ours going that way eventually also, but for now it's only being a minor annoyance thankfully.

    Is this the intro to a guessing round? Ok here's mine: there's something wrong with technology?
    Anyone know if the online library renewal is still screwed up or is it safe to use now?

    I meant what is this monstrosity that has precipitated from a simple reply-to-all reply.

    Oh. Amen to that. Some of it is really cringe-worthy.

    I fruiting HATED that reply to all jazz.
    I still bear personal grudges against some people because of it. Here's looking at you, Jonathon

    If anything there's now more time to revise for exam1 and this is an advantage so stop being a whining bitch about it....
    I think the abuse phase might be about to start! *grabs popcorn*

    I lol'd. On a more serious/boring note, does anyone understand question 3 of Frolov's tutorial 9? When the right side of the equation is transformed I can't figure out where he gets ((16pi)(e^(-2piS))/S) from.
    (also in b4 lol "piS))/S)" luks like piss). I understand why you get the first and second bit, just not that one. :confused:
    EDIT: Ok I think I get it, he substituted in -8(-2pi +2pi) to use the time displacement theorem. I think...
    Found this page here which is pretty good for clearing a few things about unit step functions up.

    www.khanacademy.org Carlsberg don't make Laplace Transform tutors, but if they did... they'd better give me free cans

    He is a brilliant teacher. Here's hoping he has videos for 2e2's material as well...
    Had to laugh at the email we got just there with the rest of the 2e4 tutorial solutions, hmm when would that have been useful OH YEAH BEFORE THE EXAM!!!11:mad:

    Also, anyone care to hazard a guess as to what "Not Corrected" means with regard to 2e9's Health and Safety/Sustainability report mark? I'm hoping it just means that its just not corrected yet and not something more... sinister. Otherwise, what'd be the point of their "Not Recorded" grade (least I think that's what it was called). Surely that's the one you'd get if you didn't hand anything up or "defaced" your report with criticism of the course (this being of course a purely theoretical example).

    Whoever designed the timetable clearly wasn't very imaginative.

    Monday : 2E6, 2E5, 2E7, hr break, 2E2.
    Wednesday : 2E6, 2E5, 2E7, hr break, 2E2.
    Friday : 2E6, 2E5, 2E7, hr break, 2E2.

    Did you not spot that three months ago?

    P.S. You are aware that you are doing engineering, a course run by engineers, and you're complaining about the lack of imagination on an engineering forum. Clearly your understanding of what makes an engineer is somewhat eschewed if you don't spot what's wrong with that.

    I was gonna lay into him, and I was too lazy.

    Actually, I was complaining about something entirely different when I first posted, but I changed it to something less interesting.
