re changing settings all the time.. Can you not use proxy switcher or such likes for firefox?
Are DNS lookups not done at OS level?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 639 ✭✭✭devinejay

Well if such a proxy switcher existed for chrome I'd use it, but yeah, DNS settings are in the network settings of the OS, so that's still a problem.

How many lectures did we have with Dr. Lyons?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 784 ✭✭✭Peleus

he gave 6 "lectures". but some lectures obviously rolled over into the next 1hr lecture period. (if you get what i mean) we had about 9 1hr lectures where 6 lectures were covered. notes are in email

6 lectures were covered... thank god! His "lecture 6" slide contains lectures six, seven, eight, nine and ten! Was getting worried thinking I'd missed something! It started getting into some seriously crazy equations, simple collision theory and all. Madness.
Even without that stuff though, 1E4 seems like it could be the hardest exam we have...

Eh.. actually bother to study for it.

I didn't learn any of the mech formulae. Not a fan of rote learning. :)

Awh Matt, you *have* to put sch after your name now. use your schol money to get a subscription to change it! You know you want to!

So when you get letters from the college will it say Matthew xxxxx sch. or will you even get letters now that you pay for nothing!! :D
So fricken jealous right now!! :D

    Scholars still get letters >.>

    as for using real names:
the trick is to have your username as your real name, and then just have your online pseudonym in your signature (1 more post!) which you can disable if you want to look serious, and leave on for your non TCD assholrity

actually i might be wrong. I never actually went to any of his lectures (9am on thursdays! no thank you). I was just going by the ammount of slides he sent us. didnt see all the extra lectures in the last slides. Although he never mentioned anything about lecture 7/8 etc in his emails so im guessing its just 1 to 6.

Some kindly soul please explain how to do this. D is the correct answer, apparently.

Edit: Shit. I just took a photo of my laptop screen. Mind is completely fucked. I thought it looked a bit weird.

    Witchcraft.

That or try take moments about axes through AB, BC, AC respectively, then you might have enough info to work it out. (Three eqs. three variables). Not sure really.

1st time I looked at that I was like "where the feck is point D!?"

And I'd say it's option B from a quick lookover, cba doing to sums, mathew has the time for it.
