Read the thread, Curious Geroge ;)

You can still renew for free, but only over the phone.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

...getting through to their voicemail system doesn't count, though. Believe me.

Lads was reading thru this site. Some of you say you were getting free monthly advertisment after initial reg fee. I paid my 30 yoyos and had to pay 15 yoyos every month after that. Did not renew ad for two months but tried to log back in and put same car up for sale again but could not log in. Have tried ringing/emailing etc carzone but getting no reply.

How did you's get free advertising. Have I been ripped off for a couple of months.

Read the thread again, fpluck. Summary: you used to pay €30 once and could renew forever for free until the car was sold. Since the system changed, you have to pay your monthly renewal fee. People on the old deal can still renew for free, but only after talking to a person on the phone in carzone.ie

I'd never use carzone again to sell a car.

Are you not going to elaborate?

Saying you'll never again use carzone is crazy as it's back end provides the front end info to 6/8 interfaces including carzone.ie

carsireland.ie and carlist.ie are usable, but CBG is just terrible photos wise and likewise AutoTrader.

I'd use CBG or AutoTrader on paper, but the Buy and Sell is probably just as good.

If you want to sell your car then carsireland is a much better site, more user friendly and rapidly growing userbase.

Carzone started the monthly charging a while ago and it's a clear indicator of the decreasing popularity of the site! Probably due to the change in the interface which is now rubbish as per the other thread running at the moment....
