It looks like a fairly good deal. I am looking for a new monitor/tv to use with my xbox 360 but with only a dvi input im not sure if this one will work.
Anyone know if (a) it will work and (b) is it any good?
    Thanks

You can get a DVI to VGA adapter fairly cheap and it will work then.

First good thing I've seen from ibood in a while.

More info on XBox/DVI here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055319285&highlight=dvi

Damn, thats a good deal! 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 2ms response time and HDCP.

Kinda wish I needed a new monitor now! Bought the 22" im currently using a year ago - was €250ish then, and not half as good.

It does appear to be a good deal, though I can't find any reviews for it. That 10000:1 contrast ratio is a load of nonsense however and it's most likely actually closer to 1000:1.

I would not rush into it. The have some LG's over at hardwareversand.de for around the same price that you might want to look at. Didn't look at it that long but I think this model is there - Im open to correction though.

Yeah its a bit dearer and maybe not in stock right now, but at that price I just wouldnt be killing myself for this one at Ibood - and I was so close ordering myself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭Qwerty?

Also on Dabs.ie for €197. Might be abit dearer, but Dabs couldn't possibly be any slower delivering than Ibood.

That's a very good deal but have had major hassle with Ibood's delivery's so not going to buy.

Not a great resolution in my opinion. My 15" screen has a resolution of 1680x1050

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,864 ✭✭✭MunsterCycling

Yes but you'll barely be able to see anything on a 15" at that resolution.

I bought a similar spec Iiyama monitor about a year ago for around 300, shows how fast prices are falling! I'd have been tempted if I didn't have a big monitor already.

Have many people bought from iBOOD and have they had much delay in the shipping of their purchase or is it the odd item that has problems, have one of these on hold for me for 24 hours and need advise: to go ahead or not...

Also I presume those items always arrive?

It says 1-5 working days.

I think they have improved on the delivery.
Last time I ordered something from them it took just 7 working days.
The time before that it took 4 weeks....
I hate waiting for stuff in the post.

Thanks, I wanted to hear it directly from someone what they were like. Can I ask what method of payment you used? CC, BANK transfer etc?

Last thing I bought from them took about 3 weeks to arrive. But keep their phone number handy, goes a long way to getting stuff sorted. Their email support is absolutely dire.

    Phone number is: 0031206811388

A little off topic but I ordered something on the 18th of August and it still hasnt arrived. I must try that phone number and see what the deal is. Nearly five weeks gone now.

1680x1050 is the standard resolution for 22" widescreen monitors.

I ordered a digital Panasonic camera at end of Aug from Ibood. It was stated 7 Day delivery, but only got it last week by 'An Post'.:(

I hope your monitor is delivered by courier instead.

ibood's delivery is dire and not worth the (minimal) saving in price to me.

iBood use TNT ... TNT are not just a courier!! they are the normal postal service in the Netherlands.

I never have an issue with delivery, usually take 2 - 3 days. I'd say An Post is the issue there.

    i got one also

God bless your eyesight but that's a ludicrous resolution to use on a 15" screen, icons and text would be minuscule.

    Doesn't mean anything.
Some stuff I ordered in December of last year, and which I've had since early Feb, is still listed as being "in progress".
They don't update the status page (ever as far as I can see.....)

I've placed 16 orders with them since Oct 07- the longest delivery time was 10 weeks, the shortest 3 days. It varies greatly. If you're worried about your order you should e-mail them on: customerservice@ibood.com or call 0031-20-68-11-388 (quoting the order number in your confirmation e-mail).

I had a Philips 22" CRT which I acquired from the X-Ray Department in Vincents when they were upgrading their equipment. The picture is amazing on it- but its 72kg in weight- and needs a reinforced table (never mind 3 people to lift it).

IBOOD delivery system = A Mess.

I've already said it above but it really isn't worth the few euros savings you make with them.

Yeah, thats common enough with their delivery. It's to hide the fact that it is pretty awful. Blame an Post all you want, but when they hand out tracking numbers hand over fist that dont work... well, be your own judge.

Still, as I've said before, if you ring em up and talk to someone you can usually expect your goods to arrive within 2-3 weeks of the phone conversation.

Several times I've been charged, no sign of items for weeks. When I eventually ring, in these cases, it is usually a case of "Oh, your credit card didnt clear right but... uhmm... yeah, we still have one in stock I can send you".

Be patient with Ibood and you'll be rewarded; if patience isnt your deal, then just move along and pay the extra few quid on some other site. Its a pretty simple trade-off imho and one that has worked out for me pretty well, thus far.

Ah! It's worth it alright. Once you know delivery is slow. Have got a few bargains and they have always arrived. Patience is a virtue indeed.

Rang about my monitor, it is in th UK as of the 03/10/08 and got the tracking number for it with DPD, one thing to remember is to use the Netherlands site for entering your tracking code as the Irish site doesn't take letters in the code.

    Happy days.
