New Garda Traffic Corps lights?

Was coming through the new barrier free last night on the M50 and there were a couple Traffic Corps vehicles there. They had very obvious red and blue lights. Correct me if I'm wrong but Garda vehicles only use Blue lights currently. Is this a new theme they're going for with the traffic corps vehicles?

I shall sleep soundly tonight lads! I'd just never seen those lights before at all and this is why it was a "big deal". Anyways .. thanks
