    http://www.newbornmillionaires.ie/

    Prizes:
    2 x €1 Million
    5 x €100,000
    45 x €10,000
    80 x €5000
    100 x €1000
    300 x €500

532 prizes altogether with only 300,000 tickets being sold. €20 per ticket
I'm not great at maths but this seems pretty good

Is it 1 in 600ish wins a prize?
Me and a mate went splits on a ticket

    Anyone else get a ticket?

Nope, been thinking about buying one though... those odds aren't fantastic but they're better than the regular lotto!
Are there any tickets left for it, they've been on sale for ages?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,738 ✭✭✭Naos

    Hmmmm sounds good.

May take a crack at it for the laughs.*

Upon looking at it, they are set to make over two million on this. Smart move that.

*By laughs I really mean because I want the money, I just don't want to be disheartened if I don't win a million euro.

Nope, 150,000 tickets being sold, 2 million winners, so the odds are halved.

    300,000 tickets being sold at €20 = €6,000,000
    Total prize fund = 3,600,000
So 60% of total in prizes.

afaik, the normal lotto give ~50% in prizes.
So nothing special here really, except the minimum spend.

I got one as a present - nice idea but my luck is crap so i might have been better with the money.

the odds of winning are 1 in 300'000.If you buy 2 tickets or they give 2 prizes the odds do not half.the odds of you winning are now 2 in 300.000 ie in the first scenario you had 1 chance to win and 299'999 that you won't in the second you have 2 chances to win and 299.998 that you won't:eek:

I figured they pay for the advertisments up front, so if they hadn't sold out then it would play the adverts up until the day of the draw... Also they're obviously planning on running another draw after this so no harm in getting as much advertising as possible.
€1M for a website is a bit much though...

Yep. Have my ticket. Everyone in my family (6 of us) pitched in a few quid to get two tickets. Might as well try our luck anyway! Sure the National Lottery do need money to pay for their ridiculously overpriced website ;)

They made such a big thing over this yet they slot the draw in a TEN MINUTE section between the Rose of Tralee??

    How Irish

And isn't it terrible to say that in this day and age, I couldn't really give up my job. Pay of the mortgage, get a nice car, few holidays and you'll be left with some savings. Still, I'm looking forward to waking up tomorrow morning a happier man.

Those people who say that money can't by happiness are deluded.
