    (Bring it on yis langers!!!)

I would have to say Longford. Its one of those makey-upy counties, everyone knows it doesn't exist so its no use trying to say you're from there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81,220 ✭✭✭✭biko

Leitrim, everyone starts on "do you have traffic lights yet?"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,070 ✭✭✭✭pq0n1ct4ve8zf5

Think it has to be Cork, just because every time somebody says "I'm from Cork" they seem to have to add "bai" even though I occasionally get the impression they hate themselves for doing it

Thank god I'm only a Dub living in Longford so!!

One place I wouldn't mind saying I came from is Muff in Donegal!!!

Boss: "Where do come you from"

    Me: "Muff"....

Just to see the peoples faces would be class!!

Howarya now? I'm from Mayo (well I grew up there anyways). Kharn is too. We are real. I swear! (Back me up Kharn!)

Also - I'm pretty sure Longford is real or else I dreamed my ex-grilfriend up completely (that's happened before actually).

I'm going to go for Offaly - take that Mundy!

    Mayo is a hole.

    I pity the fools.

Roscommon has to be up there, If you not asked about bein a farmer your asked where's your sheep.....

Rosscommon and Letrim have to be the worst, and Carlow for the pure size of it

Other - Limerick (always in the news - Moyross)
    TipperHairy - for obvious reasons
For some reason Waterford is starting to bug me

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,753 ✭✭✭fitz0

Id have to say Roscommon. What has actually come out of Roscommon? Lietrim is a close second

Im from Monaghan btw and proud of it

has to be leitrim. i know 2 people from there and they get constant abuse. after that, dont know, maybe louth (being the smallest county and all). as regards cork, i dont think it embarassing, its just that alot of people hate the place and some of its people :)

Dublin for me. These people think they're from a city when it's actually an overgrown council estate.

Oh any time I say I'm from Cork, that's it, the floodgates are open for "ya langer", "oh are ya bai...?!" etc. Hilarious. People from other counties (especially Dubs) make far more of a big deal about it than I do - despite the fact that we Cork people apparently won't shut up about it.

I'm going to say Antrim. There's nothing particularly embarrassing about it but I've never ever heard anyone say "I'm from Antrim". Ever.

Maybe it's because most people from Antrim are from Belfast and they just say that instead.

dublin.i hate sayin it to non-dubs. they look at ya all funny like! :(

I was raised in Cork but born in Clonmel, Tipp (although I try not to associate myself with that town)... How unfortunate am I?

Now living in Dub though - yay!

The notion that one ****ehole in this country is in any way superior to the next is frankly embarrassing.
There is a place called Gowel in Leitrim though.

Another +1 for Cork; I feel sorry for their rebel county mentality.

I love Donegal, my family's from there, the accent and slang is grand until you see a Donegal person trying to talk to a non-Donegal person and going "aye, in me road, me muckers are chatting to me wean, etc," and the other person just stares at them blankly or thinks they're about to be shot (scuse the prejudice, I am half Donegal-ese so I think it's okay)
