Don't Bluff Mick Stevens (original lyrics)

After some recent drunken sessions with a number of failed attempts to convert the full lyrics of Don't Stop Believin to an homage to MickSte I humbly present the following ... and suggest that any of you fortunate to be in his presence while said Journey song is playing use the revised lyrics below.

    Just a small time game
Faces they are all the same
Kinda players you could find anywhere
    Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Greystones
He took the last dart train going anywhere

A player in a smoky room
The smell of Lynx and Tadhg’s perfume
After Coppers they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

    Strangers waiting
Up and down the Jackpot Tables
They stagger drunkenly in the night
    Here comes the Stevens
    Playing cards without emotion
    Grinding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
    Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
    Just one more time

Some will win, some will lose
    Kev Corr sells new shoes
    Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
    Strangers waiting
Up and down the Jackpot Tables
They stagger drunkenly in the night
    Here comes the Stevens
    Playing cards without emotion
    Grinding somewhere in the night

    Don't bluff Mick Stevens
Don’t you ever bluff Mick Stevens
He’ll call you down with Jack high!
    Woah
    Don’t Bluff Mick Stevens
    Fold ‘em
    You people
    Ohhhhhh
Don’t you ever bluff Mick Stevens
He’ll leave you cryin in the night
    SWARRRR

Ok Danny Since you asked for it...pretty repetitive though as is the original.

    SWAR, huh, yeah
    What is he good for?
Absolutely (nothing), ah, ha, ha, ha

    SWAR, huh, yeah
    What is he good for?
    Absolutely (nothing)
    Say it again, y'all

    SWAR, huh, look out!
    What is he good for?
    Absolutely (nothing)
    Listen to me

    SWAR I extol
'cause he means destruction of innocent rolls
SWAR means the hundred heart attacks
When the rocks call and lose their stacks!

I said, SWAR, huh, good God y'all
    What is he good for
    Absolutely (nothing)
    geh, say it again

    SWAR (Huh)
    Woh, woh, woh, woh
    What is he good for?
    Absolutely (nothing)
    Listen to me

SWAR, he ain't nothin' but a stacktaker
SWAR, he’s some kind of game breaker

Ah, SWAR is an enemy of all you nits
Cause when he plays he’s usually off his *&*%!
SWAR has caused unrest within every cardroom
    Amazement then derangement
    Who wants to Call? Ah....

    SWAR, good God, y'all
What is he good for ?
    Absolutely (nothing)
Say it, say it, say it

    SWAR, ah ha yeah, huh,
    What is he good for?
    Absolutely (nothing)
    Listen to me

SWAR, he ain't nothin' but a stacktaker
SWAR, he’s some kind of game breaker

Ah, SWAR has shattered many a young man's dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean

Life is much too short and precious
To spend playing SWAR each day
    SWAR can't give life
He can only take it away

    Ahh ,SWAR, (Huh)
    Good God y'all
    What is he good for?
    Absolutely nothing
    Say it again

    (SWAR, huh)
    Woh, woh woh, Lord,
    What is he good for?
    Absolutely nothing
    Listen to me

SWAR, some say is is a stacktaker
SWAR, but maybe he’s a game maker?

Check, minraise and call, tell me
Is there no place for them today?
    SWAR only goes all-in!
But Lord knows there's gotta be a better way
    Ahh ,SWAR, (Huh)
    Good God y'all
    What is he good for?.......

You know one of my musical heros is Paul Weller.

Any man that can get the following lyric ''two lovers missing the tranquility of solitude'' into a song is an absolute genius... The song is ''Thats Entertainmet'' BTW or the lyrics ''Older married housewives are clutching milk bottles to their hearts''.....Song ''A town called Malice'' is pure genius.

I stumble upon this thread as I while away this now darkened Moody Monday evening and find that I may have actually stumbled upon another musical lyrical genius in the shape of Paul.

Paul I am not suggesting for one minute that you are the finished article but you definitely possess a talent.

My visions now of Mickste crooning to this song as he casually waves wads of 50's in cab drivers faces whilst dancing with his trousers just above his knees sends me off to reminice (cant fkn spell it ok) of more gentler times when all we had to deal with was the Micksteeee stare down.

Now through the medium of music and the genius of our fellow boardster Pabloh has brought together in song not 1 but 2 legends of the Dublin poker scene..........

Maybe, just maybe when Paul Weller referred to his ''2 lovers missing the tranquility of solitutde'' he thought of these 2 people you speak of who have now been united in song....

    Mick & Swar up a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G...

LOLers for the rollz Paul. WP GG n all. Love it.

    Jay

Delighted to have cheered up Jays evening. I hope we are all inspired to add a little verse and tune to our game. Now to wander off to the Jackpot in search of inspiration and wonder how to fit an alternate lyric to "watch me wallabies feed mate" into a song about Tadhg.

    Might I suggest:

"If I fold then I'll flop the nuts mate..."

So I played a cash game instead , there were plenty of heads,

so tonight im going to drive my car off to lukes, you deserve it, we should be together
but the suits on the 1st floor dont want me around anymore, it will never get better...
    goodbye -

Show me the way to go home,

I'm tired and I wanna go te bed,

I got'em in against the chief about an hour ago,

He sucked out, and now I'm dead!

    No matter where I raised,

    In early, middle or late,

I would always find him tagging along,

Show me the way to go home.

Show me the way to go home,

I'm tired and I wanna go te bed,

I had Kings, I had Aces, I'd a set of nines,

He sucked out on every one!

He called my big all in,

With a Jack and a four of clubs,

A four on the flop another one on the turn,

Show me the way to go home

Show me the way to go home,

I'm tired and I wanna go te bed,

I've been chiefed, I've been chiefed, I've been Chee hee hee heefed

Show me the way to go home.

No Olly, it's just a standard mobile browser, it's pretty basic really. I've seen your one in the SE, it was sh1t hot, mine's nowhere near as good.

I need to get a new phone soon, you obv recommend opera mini then.

I have opera mini installed on my sony ericcson as well and it makes it much faster due to the compression used. It's free so check it out. Basic mobiles can do so much now its unreal. I also have a betfair applet for getting my gamble on while playing cards!
