Boy with a Knife in Broad Daylight??

I work in the IFSC, and went for a cigarette with a colleague down the basement. Chatting away and next thing a boy about my age (21) just walked past us towards Amiens Street with a kitchen knife in his hand and a look of terror in his eyes!

My colleague started shaking and I asked should we call the Gardai. Someone said they're always in the area though so there should be one around but the Security Guard said he'd do it (whether he actually did or not though is another thing).

    WTF?? I'm absolutely baffled?!

Not only a bread maker but also Lazarus? WTF?! Obviously still pretty fresh himself if he's wandering around down by the IFSC :p

Clearly the first sign the recession is even hitting those in crime.
Beforehand, he could afford a gun and plenty of ammo...

    Poor lad.

Maybe he had an accident and glued the knife to his hand. The look of terror was from all the people staring at him, wide eyed........

A 21 year old boy? So immature! Grab the knife off him say "agh agh agh" and "bad boy! We don't carry knives in public."

Why didn't someone shout ''Spread it!''?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,297 ✭✭✭Ron DMC

Don't worry, I'm sure the guards would arrest him and ask him to spread 'em.

    Edit: dang, too slow.

He probably just couldn't believe it wasn't butter.

    Tom Brady Security Editor

Armed garda patrols will be stepped up inside the financial heart of Dublin in a bid to prevent a fresh eruption of gangland violence on the streets of the capital.

Senior officers fear retaliatory strikes in the inner city after the murder of a key associate of one of the gang leaders at the weekend.

The chilling murder of 30-year-old Anthony Russell in a pub in Artane has prompted the garda authorities to review the high level of security that already exists on the streets leading into the international financial services centre (IFSC).
