    3 assumptions of a monopolist market?

    1. There is only one seller, therefore that seller is the market.
    2. There are barriers to entry.
    3. The firm can control what price to sell output at, or the amount of output sold but not both simultaneously.

    Not definite about the last one.

    T_{r+1} = 8CR.[(ax)^8]/[(ab)^r.x^(2r)]

    Applied Maths: Show that the kinetic energy of a lamina rotating about an axis is 0.5Iw^2 where I = the moment of inertia of the lamina about the axis and w = its angular velocity.

    Kinetic Energy = 1/2mv^2
    But v=rw
    Kinetic Energy = 1/2m(r^2)(w^2)

    Consider small mass a distance r from a fixed axis
    Its KE = 1/2m(r^2)(w^2)

    Add up all the kinetic energies of all the small masses

    Total Kinetic Energy (of Lamina) = SUM 1/2m(r^2)(w^2)
    But 1/2 and w^2 are constants so they can come outside the summation

    KE = 1/2w^2 SUM m(r^2)

    Now Sum m(r^2) = I

    Therefore:
    KE of Lamina = 1/2Iw^2 QED
