It's a pity I haven't seen this thread until now. However...

There's one way to deal with this, and it's straightforward: Passing comments on what other people eat is rude and generally unwelcome. If they haven't got the cop on to realise this then tell them, bluntly. The fact that you feel you have to eat on your own is testament to this.

No not offended at all, you are allowed to have an opinion.
I know that others might see how I eat as odd and I admit what I eat might not seem healthy to other people either.

I just think it's a bit harsh telling people that they need to take a step back and look at their lives if they don't want to eat fatty food on a night out or have desert after dinner.

Gurlzie, you were on a night out to relax and enjoy yourself. You seem to have spent the whole night dodging suasages, drink and questions, as well as sneaking around in toilets scoffing protien bars. Doesn't sound like a way to relax and enjoy yourself to me - you could have got your much needed protein from the cocktail sausages if you needed it that badly - not ideal, but sometimes you need to make compromises.

Some of the above posts are hilarious - people saying the people making the comments will die young and are fat and ugly etc. when they have absolutely no idea how these people live their lives. It seems some people think they are immortal, magnificent and somehow special because they follow the "six small meals a day with protien in each meal, handful of nuts for snacks, whey post work out etc etc" body builders diet that is so popular here.

Being healthy is more than weightlifting, it's more than eating protein six times a day religiously, it's about finding a balance, being happy and enjoying life. When you are on your death bed, what will you remember - that workout where you knocked out 10 reps of a 100k on the bench. I think it will be more likely the time you spent with people you loved - holidays, nights out, birthdays, weddings, relationships. Life is too short to be worried or fretting over a cocktail sausage. If you fancy the cake in work one friday - have some, if you don't, then don't, but don't engulf your self in guilt and trepadation over it. Some of my friends choose not to work out regularly - they have other hobbies - they are still healthy and happy. Some people need to get of their high horses.

I'm probably just a bit older than most who post here, so have been training for a variety of sports for a very long time. I know how it can engulf people and sometimes take over their lives - it can take people a long time to find the right balance. Most, not all, on here are recreational trainers, not elite athletes, who need to take it so seriously. When you're in the gym, train hard, when you're out or on holiday, enjoy it.

Lunch over now - not convinced I got enough protein there....:D
