Anyone watch the anime this week? Probably the best episode I've seen in a while really enjoyed it and glad to see the censorship ease off a bit.

I haven't read ahead in the manga either so am looking forward to the next few episodes being equally as entertaining.

It wasn't that good of a conclusion to end on, the hero has no power and they leave it at that and never tell you who his dad was or a good few other things.

And as far a the Japanese manga industry is concern when the big 3 Shōnen manga end it will seriously **** the industry up.

I thought it would have been a fine end, sure it kind of came out of nowhere, but it resolved the main plot threads.

There is absolutely no reason for it to continue at all once the main plot has ended.

Yea it was a little tongue in cheek

I too think he should have just ended it. Manga's been allover the place for the longest time, in my opinion it's way in last place in terms of quality in the big 3. For about 100 chapters there were barely even any backgrounds drawn...

Sales matter and manga is living off Naruto, One Piece and Bleach, Bleach was far better previously and now it trailing behind the others.

sarcasm needs its own font to help identify it.

In terms of sales, One Piece is the biggest selling manga in Japan having sold over 20 million this year. Naruto is the second biggest but has only shifted about a quarter of One Piece's numbers.

As for sales and shifting copies and the so called "big three."

You're right, Shueisha care about popularity and moving copies more than anything else, but they won't push a manga based on previous popularity. Numbers in Jump are done entirely on current popularity on a week to week basis. Even if a manga is doing well in Tankōbon sales, if it is unpopular in Weekly Jump, they'll drop it.

Unpopular manga are not kept afloat based on past success, only current. A sudden massive change in pacing or direction such as we saw in Bleach recently is often indicative of falling popularity, and efforts being made by the writers or Editors to boost ratings.

I completely disagree with your assertion that Bleach, One Piece and Naruto are the life blood of the manga industry. While it's true that One Piece and Naruto are both the biggest selling in Japan (according to AnimeNewsNetwork's figures at least) and Shueisha's biggest IPs, there are many other extremely popular manga printed not only by Shueisha but by other publishers too.

Remember, the Japanese manga industry is absolutely saturated with titles for every demographic from a myriad of publishers. The lion's share of these will never be translated or distributed outside Japan. Every month new series start and old series finish.

Blah, I've forgotten where I was going with this. Point is, I'm not claiming to be an expert, I just disagree with you.

Uhm first of all hello ! I'm new to these forums and this is my first post so take it easy on me :>

For a while now it seemed like Kubo has been trying to end Aizen arc ASAP and restart the whole series.

This whole Slice of Life scenery resembles how every single manga including Bleach started Even Ichigo losing powers looks like start for something completely new.

So imo he finally realised that he's only losing on popularity and decided to try something new and that's what this whole change of pace is for.

Anyway I enjoyed previous arcs up to whatever happened after Ichigo defeated Ulquiorra, so for the sake of those good times I'll continue reading bleach until it ends :>

It resolved the Aizen thread, but what about the royal gaurd, was Ichigos dad a captain or did he work for the Royal gaurd?, who/what is the spirit king all these things were introduced during the main plot, with the intent that they would be explained so to put it bluntly they have to be explained, and the royal gaurd and spirit king could be two whole NEW main plots....

Ah i think Naruto is quite good at the moment....It has been going slow since he got his new powers and the anime is annoyinhg me with these stupid flashbacks but its building up to something BIG!! with madara getting the rinnegan and knowing narutos location, it should be good:)

Ever since Bleach started, Aizen has been at the very heart of the story. Everything that happened was motivated by his schemes or actions.

I half expect him to escape from prison down the line.
