€15 for about 17 pints is a bargain here :D

There are just under 9 pints in 5 litres, not 17.

Yes i figured i had worked it out wrong as my keg is empty and there was no way i had 17 pints :D So its not as good value as i thought since you can get more for your money getting cans! I guess its the novelty of pulling your own and also keeping it chilled without taking up fridge space.

But don't you see double when you're drunk? ;)

*I know double would be 18 pints, but you have to allow for evaporation!

Oh there's also a special on at the mo, .75 litre bottles of Bulmers at €2.50 a pop. A pint and a half of bulmers for €2.50 sounds good to me.

    *hic*

OOOps I'll go and edit. I was pushing the €2.50 button honest. :o

See what happens when you post after a few bottles of bulmers :D But head down to Lidl tomorrow and get them for 2.50, if you're into that kind of thing of course.

    *hic* :D:D

Jester77 where can you in Germany get 5L kegs for €6? Are these local brews or is that what lidl/aldi charges? I can not find anything for less than €20 on German websites as i was hoping to order some :D

i've only got the 5l mini keg of heineken before. has to be chilled for about 10 hours before using it to make sure the pressure is ok for pouring, and by then it is chilled!!

My neighbour got the tap in lidl. it only suits certain kegs but he found a lot of frought/head coming out, found it hard to adjust the gas to pour reasonably.

I saw some of them in my local Rewe at the weekend for €5.90, don't know what the brand was though, probably a local brew. The more mainstream beers like Becks and Franziskaner were around €8 or €9. I don't bother with the kegs as they are expensive compared to buying a crate of the same beer, for €12 you can get 10L of Becks or Franziskaner, but there are much nicer beers than those that don't come in the kegs.

Edit: The taxi flights are HLX, but unfortunately they stopped the Dub-Ham service 2 years ago, only Aer Lingus operating on it now

Warsteiner is on a special this week for €7, near the end of leaflet.

Warsteiner in Lidl, I keep seeing that beer and keep forgetting to get it. I love the name. Is it good? Lidl really do have an excellent selection of beers. Excelsior, Perlenbacher, Fink Brau (I like it). They also stock Bass aswell.
