    Hi all,

Quick Q to follow up on this thread I had for a graphics card issue.

It looks as thought the issue actually lies with the PSU not being able to support the graphics card and allow me to use dual monitors which I'd really like to be able to do. So basically I'm looking for a PSU for an Inspiron 545 Service Tag 97Z8H4J that will allow it to run a graphics card for dual monitors.

    TIA

Sure the power consumption on a Geforce 210 is probably minimal. I have my doubts that that would make much difference.
What are the rest of your specifications - i.e., CPU in particular and your existing PSU?

I'd say get the latest drivers from the nvidia website itself and never mind those dated ones on the disc.

Will have to check the PSU for you but the CPU is an Intel Quad core Q8300, have 4gb of RAM, running 64 bit Win7

It's strange because I made a point of starting from scratch with the PC, had been meaning to wipe it anyway so got the main drivers, downloaded the driver for Win7 off the Nnvidia site and it gave an error stating something along the lines of the hardware not being detected.

Additionally - the fan/PSU was revving highly at intervals despite the PC not running any programs which led me to believe it was struggling for power.

I'll give it another bash and try some additional drivers though.

Everyone knows that the Nvidia GTX Titan (I think that's the name?) is being released tomorrow, but it's been difficult to find an actual photo of it.

    Until now...

Looks nice! Full article here: http://videocardz.com/39618/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-pictured

While on the topic of GPU's would I see much improvement from a 7950 to a 7970? I'm ordering one in the next few days. I only run a single 1080p mointor. I have just about enough for the XFX black edition 7970 while I can afford pretty much any of the 7950's. Is it worth the extra €70 odd in terms of pure performance?

I'd say a firm no for 1080p, I'd just get any 7950 that has a decent overclocking pedigree.

Ordering a new SSD and a usb stick tonight, going to go hackintosh on this 2620171.png

Currently have a samsung 830 120gb with windows on it, and plan to get another to install osx, then raid them if I feel I can completely switch from windows. Would an 840 pro be my best bet? Or have I completely fallen behind on which ssd's are good? Also just need a fairly cheapy 8gb usb stick, but the choice of that won't really matter.

Thoughts on what ssd I should go for? I want 120gb/128gb so I don't have to worry about being very conscious of installing programs, but don't need 256 as that's a bit mad for a boot drive IMHO

I'm not sure though: It's such a lovely card, and I feel like I'd be wasting a lot of money by ripping that sculpture of a cooler off and throwing a waterblock on it...

C'mon NVIDIA, release one of these things with a aluminium-plated, polycarbonate waterblock already! Screw the air cooling plebeians! :P

I agree. I wouldn't buy one due to lack of funds but anyone who does buy one I'd imagine watercools anyway. I don't really understand why, when you're paying over €800 for a single card, it doesn't come with a water cooling block as standard. Maybe I'm wrong, correct me if I am, but I feel only performance enthusiasts will buy the Titan and I doubt very much any of them run anything on air.

Im finding it hard to find a reference design WC block for a GTX580

    http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/vga-blocks/fc-geforce/5x0-gtx-series.html

Now maybe I am not looking in the right places so if anyone here has an idea of where they might be hiding. Preferably an EK but let me know if you can see anything else

Are there any cards that come with a stock water cooler?

The only ones in the way you're thinking of are EVGA's Hydro Copper cards. You'll get some e-tailers though that will take card X, block Y, and sell card Z with a waterblock preinstalled.

Oh right. I was under the impression that it would be it's own self contained unit but you have to plug it in to the rest of the cooling in your PC.
That would explain why it isn't more common.

I hate when youtubers put in kids in their reviews like this. I am not of those things called kids in the first place and it is even more annoying when it is just ruins the video.

As for the card. for 900eu they can keep it. Seriuosly, we need more performance per price, not performance for FECKING STUPID HIGH PRICE GPUs.

I actually thought the kid was quite cool :).

But yeah, it's a bit too expensive for me to ever consider. I'd much rather get a 690/7990 at that price.

A 690, really? Bearing in mind we haven't got reviews yet, and there have been some saying narrow losses, others saying narrow wins. Let's say it performs equally. Why, for roughly the same price, and performance, would you not go with a single GPU over a dual GPU solution?
