So you've passed everything and now you're just waiting. Pull up a seat and hope they don't leave you waiting too long!

Right I'll be first to sit in the waiting room. I know there's a few of us. This is how things went with me so far.

    Apt - Early Nov 07
    Interview - Early Jan 08
    Med - Late Feb 08
    PCT - Early March 08

Hopefully won't be waiting too much longer to hear. :)

You've got pretty much an identical timetable to me!!!
It's painful to be waiting like this. Did they ring you last week to see if you were available for may if the checks were finished?
They did for me but obviously they weren't done in time.

P.S. Well done for breaking down the thread into different sections.
Hopefully will work a lot better

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,468 ✭✭✭ojewriej

Yeah, a session is a must.

It's great though, I'd say the fact that we know each other a little bit from here, will make the first days easier.

We will have to make sure that we will all meet up and recognise each other on the first day.

It used to be a requirement to apply, but they dropped it in 2005 to allow foreginers in. Now the requirement is at least 2 European Languages, one of which has to be English or Irish.

But you still have to study Irish once you get in, as far as I know, they set up special beginner classes for foreigners.

People in this country have a constitutional right to have their dealings with An Garda Siochana carried out through Irish. Therefore you must have a working knowledge of the language. So yes it is a compulsory subject in Templemore but don't panic you wont have to be fluent. :)

Apptitude on 15th February - can I ask you when you actually applied to publicjobs. I'm just curious how much time you'd have to prepare!

    Well done by the way!
