Sometimes the sticker is on the underside of the ashtray.

If not there's a big thread in the main forum for requesting ford radio codes.

I know in my focus there's a sticker on the side of the inside of the glovebox and also another sticker with code on top of the radio when you pull it out. But mine is a mk2 so maybe the mk1 doesn't have them stickers worth a try anyway.

Unlike the M serial numbers, you can't get free codes for V serial numbers.

Try a Ford dealer, or there are various commercial unlocking services.
