Des Kennedy is highly recommended, he is located in Garryowen on the road behind the old Pike Inn/Stuffen's Restaurant.

    +1

He is very good. Had a few jobs done by him down through the years, never had a problem after his work unlike work done by some main dealers.

Christy Madden on the Ballysimon Road (behind Dan O'Connor Feeds) is quite good. I had starter motor trouble last week and badly needed my car working asap. I rang him at about 11 am, he took the car in at 1:30 pm and I had the car back in full working order at 5pm (at a very good price too). Great service and he won't screw you.

Does anyone know if these two guys, Des Kennedy and Eugene Keane, are still in business? I went past both places today to get me banger fixed and both of them had their gates locked. They might have been just closed for Saturday. You never know these days with all the places closing.

Des Kennedy is definately still in business, I was in with him during the week. Sometimes he doesn't open on Saturdays at all or only opens until lunch time.

Both places are still open, though both must close on Saturday.

Plus the man scored against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu. What a farking legend! Not too many Limerickmen can boast about that (well to be precise, one can - Des)

That auto place in garryowen is good.

Alternatively take it to the BMW specialists on the Ennis Road, Clondrinagh motors. Tel 061 329369

They are very good and reasonable also. My car is out there currently having a bit of work done

This could be a bit inaccurate but I think only 2 players scored against real Madrid in the european cup that season.:Alan Kenndy Liverpool in the final and Des Kennedy Limerick Utd .

Drive out William St. past the Jail.

Des is located pretty much behind the burned out Branigans pub on the lhs. If you go as far as the Munster Fair Tavern, you've overshot.

Apologies for digging up an old thread but...

Are there any auto electricians that would be open on a saturday? Do ye reckon Advance Pitstop would have someone that could fix/replace an alternator?

Battery died on me yesterday. Put in a new one this morning and the battery light stays on when driving which I think means the alternator is not charging the battery. I think I'm supposed to check if the belt or the regulator in the alternator are gone. It's a Corolla by the way.

Give Des Kennedy a ring, he sometimes opens for a few hours on a Saturday but best to ring ahead.

Des Kennedy will sort you out, and he won`t mess around.
I had an issue, the main dealer was estimating € 350. I contacted Des, he knew the problem. He could fix it for a lot less.
A very common issue that main dealers clean up on (my opinion)
He even provided the entertainment when I asked him about his footballing legendary.
I can`t recommend him highly enough.

Des sorted me out no bother. I'll be going to him again in the future.

Des Kennedy is your man, very good and reasionablly priced

On the recommendation of this thread I went to Des Kennedy and he did a great job fixing e/windows that wouldn't wind up.

I originally had the car at a mechanics and they said I needed new motors (cost including labour nearly €300) but I think they only suggested that because they didn't have a clue. It was obviously something electrical.
I took it to Des and he had the fault identified and fixed in a few hours and even gave some good suggestions to prevent problems in future (for €45).

    I would definitely recommend him.
