Can somebody correct me if I'm wrong but the x1 crt has a 150cc capacity fuel tank.

If you get a gallon (4.5L) then that's thirty tanks worth of fuel isn't it?

How long on average will a tank last? And if I'm running in on a quarter throttle or so to break in how long will it take to empty the tank?

    150ml = Correct :cool:

    approx 30 tanks yes.

How long is a bit of string?
My one has the GO.28 engine and I reckon around 7 - 9 minutes to a tank just blasting around.

With the .32 engine I feel around 5-6 minutes per tank
Running it in will get boring as you will get too long out af a tank going slow :pac:
    Around 12 minutes maybe?

Oh that's not very long at all. :(
    There expensive enough to run.

Well it seems my dream of having it up and running at the weekend is now out the windows as modelworld in galway don't have any nitro. He say's it could be in today or tomorrow but he did not really sound all that convincing.

    Hmm,
Not sure what to suggest then,
Contact one of the lads from Navan Nitro Nuts or Bonisio?
Maybe someone will be oging across your way over the weekend?
Possibly one of the Galway Club members might have some to sell you to keep you going?

One other option would be to phone Andrew @ Modeltune in Ulster.
    MODELTUNE 00442838 330555
He would get some Byron fuel down to you which is top class fuel.
Now. It may be late in the day but you never know your luck ;)

Looks like I might be able to pick some up off a fella now. Yipeee! :)

Modelworld did have nitro for planes though but he said it's not recommended for cars.
    What's the difference?

Model cars have smaller engines (15 and 20 size) than ordinary planes (50 and 60 size), so they need higher nitro.
The fuel for high performance aerobatic planes and competitive helis is pretty much the same as the car fuel.

    Yes,
Like I said, I use 20% Heli (coptor ) fuel in my one.
Plenty of smoke off that stuff :D

if your asking me,5%...ill pop down to coolwings after school tomorow and get him or patrick to have a look!

5% is very low, it won't be able to generate enough heat to break in the engine. Come up maybe an extra 10%.

I bought a gallon of it a while ago...how much would 15?% be in ghm?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,672 ✭✭✭✭vectra

Buy a gallon of 15% and mix them
Dont try to run it in the 5% rubbish
I know Coolwings says it is fine but you are wasting your time ..you wont get the right performace out of that engine with it :o

If you have a 500ml Filler bottle?
    Put 250 & 250 in there ?
Or are they 300? Cant remember now
but you could do it that way
If you have something bigger it would be better as you wouldnt be opening the gallons as much
