A father and daughter in Australia are together and have had a child. The daughter didn't know the father growing up, but when they met they knew they were father and daughter and started a relationship anyway.

    Discuss!

    From the Daily Telegraph: http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,23496488-5001021,00.html
    Father, daughter have child together

A SOUTH Australian father and daughter have revealed they are a couple, and have had a child together.
John and Jenny Deaves reunited 30 years after Mr Deaves separated from Jenny's mother.

Jenny was 31 and just two weeks after meeting, father and daughter had sex.

"John and I are in this relationship as consenting adults," Mrs Deaves told the Nine Network's 60 Minutes tonight.

"We are just asking for a little bit of respect and understanding."

Their nine-month-old daughter Celeste, shown on TV, appears fit and healthy.

Mrs Deaves said soon after reuniting with her father she began to see him as a man first and her father second.

"I was looking at him, sort of going, oh, he's not too bad," she said.

"Like you might look at a man across the bar at a nightclub."

Mrs Deaves brought two children, Samantha and Alex, into the relationship after splitting from her former partner.

Mr Deaves admitted that he "initially" thought having sex with his daughter was wrong.

"Emotions take over, as people no doubt realise, there are times during your life where emotions do rule the heart, it rules the head," he said.

"I knew it was illegal, of course I knew it was illegal but you know, so what."

Mrs Deaves said the physical relationship with her father was like "a sexual relationship with any other man".

For Mr Deaves the sexual relationship was "absolutely fantastic".

A South Australian police media spokesman said "the couple is being monitored".

They shouldn't have been allowed breed as far as I'm concerned.

"We are just asking for a little bit of respect and understanding." - Lol, gtfo, they'll get neither and should respect and understand why.

Ok, I'm all for letting people have their freedom by and large but this is fcuked up. They ran a huge risk of the child having any number of complications and have they given any thought to how it will deal with growing up when the fact that its sister is also its mother comes out.

Sister. They're both the children of the same man.

    Didn't think of that.

Poor child is going to have to be homeschooled and will certainly be a social outcast for a good chunk of its life. How people could even bring that upon a child is beyond me, they're two very fcked up people who as I already said, should not have been allowed breed.

sorry i jumped to a quick conclusion. What an ugly looking couple anyway.

She gave birth to her own Step-Sister as the child is not of the same parental pairing. And she is her own Step-Mother. The child is also his Granddaughter and daughter. To her 2 other kids he is their Grandfather and Step-Father.

    WHAT THE HELL

    They belong in Alabama.

Who knows, maybe in 20 years (if he's still alive!) he'll ditch his daughter wife in favour of his granddaughter daughter!

I wouldn't expect anything less from a colony of convicts and sheep farmers.

Meh, it's their business if they want to have sex - at least it's consensual incest rather than abuse, and at least she didn't know him when she was growing up so it's not as if they'd have to reconcile the fact that he used to be her father figure.

However having a child together - extremely irresponsible.

And it must be an awful thing for his other children/her mum to come to terms with.

There is a phenomen where reunited family members can feel massively sexually attractive to each other.

I don't agree with that - they're just not very purty.

Heh, calling the child "Celeste" - could they not have come up with a name that was less close to "incest"?

    Beautiful kid though - surprisingly.

Does that mean he has to buy the kid twice as many presents for christmas seeing as he's the father and the grandfather?

So he has to buy more presents and he gets less presents? This guy should have really thought this through.

No, he can fob the child off by saying she only gets one present from him, like people who have birthdays at Christmas get fobbed off sometimes!

Wow, imagine if they tried to get married, he'd walk up the aisle to give her away, only to walk back down with her later!
Also any attempted baptisms of christening ceremonies would be equally amusing, doesn't seem as if they're a religious type though:rolleyes:

I watched the 60 Minutes programme last night and I definitely felt a little sick hearing them discuss the relationship and how they see nothing wrong with it.

    "Your father is brother,
    Your sister is your mother,
    You're f*cking one another,
    The insest family"

    It's a tragic situation.

If enough people start doing this sorta ****, and it gradually becomes more accepted over a few decades, will there be incent pride marches?

It's all over the media here today.

He walked out of her life when she was a child, so she never knew him as a 'father'.

He came back into her life as an adult, and yes, she knew he was her father. However, the separation time in between gave rise to the phenomenon someone's already linked where genetically related people who are separated young find themselves attracted to each other as adults, and being adults, assume that attraction is sexual, and therefore embark on a sexual relationship.

That part of it, while definitely weird, can at least be explained scientifically.

What can't be explained is why they were then stupid enough to have a child, or who told the media, or how the hell they haven't run to the hills and hid by now.

    I'm My Own Grandpa
    http://www.metacafe.com/watch/54702/im_my_own_grandpa/
Many many years ago when I was twenty three,
I got married to a widow who was pretty as could be.

This widow had a grown-up daughter
    Who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her,
And soon the two were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law
    And changed my very life.
    My daughter was my mother,
For she was my father's wife.

    To complicate the matters worse,
    Although it brought me joy,
    I soon became the father
    Of a bouncing baby boy.

    My little baby then became
    A brother-in-law to dad.
    And so became my uncle,
Though it made me very sad.

For if he was my uncle,
Then that also made him brother
    To the widow's grown-up daughter
Who, of course, was my step-mother.

Father's wife then had a son,
Who kept them on the run.
    And he became my grandson,
For he was my daughter's son.

My wife is now my mother's mother
    And it makes me blue.
Because, although she is my wife,
    She's my grandmother too.

If my wife is my grandmother,
    Then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it,
    It simply drives me wild.

    For now I have become
The strangest case you ever saw.
As the husband of my grandmother,
    I am my own grandpa

Father, daughter incest pair had sick baby

Court documents have revealed that a father and daughter at the centre of a South Australian incest scandal had previously had a child who died of a congenital disease.

The pair, John and Jenny Deaves, began a sexual relationship and had two children after Jenny tracked down the father she had never known.

The Deaves and their apparently healthy nine-month-old baby daughter were featured on 60 Minutes last night.

John and Jenny Deaves were found guilty last month of a single charge of performing an act of incest with the other.

Court documents show that another child they had in 2001 died soon after being born.

The sentencing remarks show the pair were charged with two counts of incest in 2007 after police were tipped off about their relationship following an investigation by the Department for Families and Communities South Australia.

The pair were initially bailed on the condition that Mr Deaves have no contact with Ms Deaves or their child — a condition the judge said drove Mr Deaves to attempt suicide twice.
