    Hi guys

For those of you living in Portarlington or who socialise in Portarlington please feel welcome to pop into Gogarty's for a drink tonight or anytime over the long wkend.
It has been taken over by new management, newly refurbuished, new furniture ...... looks very very well I must say (I am biased though)

So if you are around pop in, have a drink, try out the beer and have a great weekend!!!

I'm still sceptical about the place, many have tried to turn it around, all have failed... the name needs to be changed, Gogartys is fine but the 'SHAMROCK' will always have a bad name in Portarlington.

    Hi all,

i was chatting with 1 or 2 of the other regular posters here in the portarlington threads and suggested we all meet sometime for drinks and to build up the network of friends. Just a thought! Who would be up for it?

    :)

    Great idea!

Myself and the boyfriend should be around alright. :D

I don't go out much but I was out on Saturday night and saw 20 minutes of Route 66's "performance" in the East End. 21 minutes too long unfortunately!

*Bangs head off wall thinking about the hotel*

Don't go to the hotel, ever ever ever ever, its the biggest kip/dank/dive in the country!!! And don't get me started on Route 66....

Perhaps the Anvil or After Dark on the 15th?

The East End sounds like a savage place that needs to be further explored by runningman!

I'm not much into going out unless there's a reason to go out, meeting people etc but the inlaws were with us for the weekend and they loves a bit of live muzak. It was shocking! "all the way from the Lone Star state of Texas, it's Shania Twain!!!" We'd been there a few months before and there were a couple of auld lads playing choons on guitars (can you tell I'm not really a massive music fan???) and father in law absolutely loved them so not every night out there has descended into farce. I'll be giving it a wide berth for the forseeable future mind you....;)

won't be around next couple of weekends myself. Between the All Ireland final next weekend (am going to Dublin even if I don't get a ticket ) and saving for trip to New York (3 weeks from now) the rest of the time, I'm going to be keeping a very low profile ;)
