Being hugged by an angel. She kind of descended slowly out of the sky then her arms wrapped around me like snakes and she pulled me into the ground. I woke up horse from screaming. It's not even all that scary when you think about it, guess you just had to be there.

I had a dream once I was being put to death in an electric chair and my dad was the warden guy pulling the lever.

    It was horrible.

I had a very vivid dream when I was a kid: I was wearing a white woolen geansai and somehow it got on fire and although I tried to get it off, I died before I could. I could then see scenes of treetops and forests and then I woke up. Doesn't sound that scary but I was freaked out for a good while.

I once dreamed I was waiting for the train when some junkie asked me for my phone, to which I told him where to go. Next thing you know the guy goes mental and it starts raining(literally raining) syringes. Que me getting pelted with the bloody things and waking up very VERY wigged out, checking my body for puncture marks.

    I've had 2-
One where I was in a car with my dad, him driving and me in the passenger seat. We were on a road we typically 'go for a drive' on and as we turned a bend everything went dark. I didn't see us crash but knew we had - up into a ditch. Still everything was black but I could feel a pressure on my back telling me i was pressed up against the windscreen and facing back into the car and all I could hear was my dad screaming. Woke up with my heart pounding. Bleedin horrible.

Another when I was only about 10 or 11. I was in a log cabin in a forest tied to a chair with nothing else in the room. Everyday a man would come in and circle me. I could never see his face, despite not being blindfolded, just his legs from the knee down. Then he'd hammer a small wooden peg about the width of your thumb into a body part and leave. The next day he'd come back to cut it off. The part that woke me was when he returned having stuck a peg in my arm. He stood behind me, grabbed my wrist and pulled my arm over my head and behind me so that my elbow was pointing towards the ceiling. He then took a knife and started to cut across my arm from inside to out just below the shoulder. Ever bend an eraser when you were in school and eventually it starts to tear but slowly in that rubbery fashion? Well that's how my arm went. That wasn't enjoyable being ten

The dreams that freak me out are the ones where I am running from someone.

At first I am sprinting as fast as I can, then that turns into a quick jog, then a jog, fast walk (at this time my back is starting to stoop over), slow walk (back pretty bent), crawl, monkey crawl, stop.

This is all getting progressively slower, so when it hits the crawl it's in slow motion. All the while the lunatic that is chasing me is sprinter faster and faster.

I had this dream a few months ago that all my teeth slowly crumbled and fell out! (I love my teeth)
It was terrible, I woke up crying :(

Bad dreams usually involve me falling very slowly but inevitably over the edge of a cliff, and just continuing to fall endlessly ...

All the dreams referred to thus far have the dreamer either the victim or a witness in something horrible. I had one where I was the perpetrator of something horrendous. I'm not going to say what, but it was terrible.

I woke actually hating myself. I'll take any dream mentioned thus far over it.

One dream I had a few years back that stuck with me for a while was that I was fighting two people with a large metal pole, I started sticking the pole into them, into the head and neck and what not. Once they were dead, I put the pole up vertically, and drove my head straight through it. I woke up then.

i had a recurring dream once a month for a year that vampires were attacking and killing everyone and me and a guy who i used to be friends with had to try kill them all and save the world. doesnt sound scary but it was bleeding terrifying!

Is there any way to actually make yourself have bad dreams?

About 3 or 4 years ago at least once a week for a few months I'd have a dream where I'd die. I'd wake suddenly at the exact moment of death. They stopped all of a sudden and ever since I've just had usual boring dreams.

Being stabbed in the neck. Having the knife slowly inserted into my neck, feeling the blade glide between my muscles. I awoke, too scared to move.

Probably the one where I was being chased by four steroetypical goths (got nothing against goths, am friends with some so I'm surprised they took this role in my dream) were chasing me to try to rape and kill me. Parts of it were kind of exhilirating because some of it was like resident evil where I had to kill them to survive. But parts of it were utterly terrifying.....

Zombies, always with the zombies my dreams are,and im trapped at the top of a building made completely out of glass, floors and all so i can see them coming. Then trying to run away feels like i have leaden weights attached to my legs.Makes moving one leg in front of the other an inhuman conscious effort:(

Anne Doyle, Bibi Baskin, Medium sized yellow Marigolds and a catering pack of I can't Believe it's not butter. Fukcing horrow show. I ended up giving the mattress to the kids in the estate at Halloween.

Numerous ones involving losing teeth (they say its a sign of worrying)

    Worst and most random one

Was in isreal, in some dark brownish caves, sorta cross between indy jones and the goonies, and we were crawling, when a man with no legs came scurrying out and stole our football, i don't know why but that still stands as my scariest

I have had a recurring nightmare since I was about 7 where I am strapped into something that resembles the top of some one's tooth and the person is grinding their teeth and I get closer and closer to being crushed.

It absolutely terrifies me. I only get it a couple of times a year now and the last time was about 2 weeks ago. Usually I wake up terrified and convinced that I'm about to die. Even when I tell myself it was just a dream I don't calm down. I get too scared to even try to sleep.

    So that's pretty bad! :p

I had a dream like that, and it was so realistic, I got all the way with it then blanked out. I can remember feeling drips of water run down the side of my face from the sponge they put on my head, I remember getting prepped with the razor before hand and I can remember the initial SHOCK as it was switched on, my hands were pulling straight up, trying to free them from the support and my toes spread apart.

It was all done in so much graphic detail I didnt know I was dreaming... usually in a vivid dream I can identify with the fact I was dreaming, but this time it was SO real.

That has got to be one of the worst dreams I have had, and I have had a few scary ones...

Yeah i get that one quite a bit too. It's a pretty common one.

My worst recurring dream is being out on the estate late at night and there is a load of dogs wandering about. I know they're up to no good but will i leg it? Of course not. Anyway i let them get too close and they chase me and maul me the lot of them. Eventually i wake up. Eventually!

Others are walking up my stairs and being dragged back down by some force which scares the crap out of me and another is being chased by an ostrich. Doesn't sound that bad but it's done like a horror movie. Great production in my head. Of course the ostrich in question is some sort of mutant one otherwise... well... it wouldn't be that frightening would it.

This totally creeped me out, was back in 2003.

I was attracted to a wreck-the-head girl who had humiliated me in real life. I had a dream once where I was with her in a railway station, slit her throat and tried to dump her under the platform. I woke up in a sweat - found it really creepy because I'm absolutely nowhere near that type of person.

The worst dream I've ever had was about the time I found out my sister was pregnant, I had a dream that she was being raped by the Devil in my parents bed, I tried to help her but an invisible force was preventing me from getting through the doorway, she was in a kind of trance and he was mocking me... I felt so powerless :(

It was most unsettling at the time, my sister fearing the devil so much, I decided it best not to tell her about the dream.

Needless to say I don't much care for the kids father ;P

My girlfriend freaked me out when she told me about her dream this morning...

The dream was, myself and her were staying with this really old woman who could tell the future. Anyway my girlfriend asked her how long are we going to live and all the woman said was "I won't tell because you're so nice and it kills me to say it" and then my gf asks 'will we live as long as you?' and the old woman says "sadly, no". I actually woke up in the middle of the night hearing my gf asking these questions out loud....freaky stuff

I had a dream once where I somehow ended up in one of those crushers like you see on the bin trucks. I could actually feel it pressing down on me and woke up completely choking for breath. Freaked the absolute sh1t out of me for about 3 days afterwards.
