    Well ladies,

That is the burning question! What do you spend the majority of your hard earned wages on? It pains me to say but I could spend an eternity in a chemist... not necessarily with make-up but EVERYTHING from shampoo to those silly little samples that some places actuallly charge for!

Bt my big expenditure has to be shoes. If my crappy salary allowed it, I would buy a new pair of shoes every day, no problem! :D

Some of you may think im a tad crazy but as I told my boyfriend recently " at least when I pick up a pair of size 5's, they fit" :D unlike the masses of different size 10, 12, 14 and 16's and so on out there!!

So whats your big spending passion??

    Clothes
Spend most of my money of drinking, parties, hair styles, piercings... ya know.. that sort of business.
I have an addiction to shoes too though. And different outfits because i "HAVE NUTTTIN TA WEAR SO I DON'T!!!!"

But yeah. Most of it does be drank.

ok, well, nothing from the poll. saving up for some new ink and piercings at the moment, but they wont happen for about a year. otherwise, alcohol, though i've been calming down on that oen a lot lately, but my big vice is cds.

cds are fairly expensive around here, but when they go for discount, which the local big cd shop has a fairly extensive section for, they're really very cheap. then there's the second hand cds which are cheap as, as well as the fact my mate works there and gives me discounts on everything i buy.

I'd spend my money on eating out/drinking probably and travel. We go away a lot.

I've been saving for a while so I've cut down my expenditure. Not as much as i should but it's a start!

you've been saying that last bit for months ! :P ;)

I know. Then I bought a new laptop and put a huge dent in my savings! Going home to live with the mammy and daddy soon. That'll save me a bit. My dad tried to get me to pay rent for the 6 weeks I'm at home, I laughed!

Crumble Froo, please tell me NZ is cheap!

    Games
    Tech
(I buy a lot of pointless unnecessary things, I bought a Nokia n770 for t'internet, though I already had a laptop and a pc, then I got an iphone, rendering the n770 useless, then I bought a macbook pro, now I'm looking at the macbook air. Also the proud owner of two SE k800i's)

    Um.. and chinese food :/

    wheres the alcohol option?

most of my money goes on booze and eating out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 842 ✭✭✭Weidii

I'm a student so really most of it goes towards living. What doesn't go towards that goes towards nights out/in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,134 ✭✭✭Lux23

    Clothes and shoes.
Eating out and drinking 12 euro cocktails in silly overpriced bars.
Taxis are another thing I waste money on.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 991 ✭✭✭aye

hmmmm, i'd have to say clothes, food and petrol.
i don't drink but even so going out is still expensive.

    Going to shows.

THats where all my money sees to be going lately.

How come the poll doesn't have handbags?

Thats where all my money goes to :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,285 ✭✭✭BanzaiBk

Handbags, games/techie stuff and going to see/going away with my boyfriend mainly. Sometimes I think it's a waste and othertimes I'm in a fierce carpe diem mood so it doesn't bother me:p

I'm still looking for the "degenerit gambler" option.

My poker game stinks this month. Ah well, swings and roundabouts. Next time, always next time :D

    Try "Other" perhaps. ;)

Otherwise we'd need a games'n'gadgetry option too since that seems to be a few posters personal vice (I'm also one).

my money seems to just disappear when i wanna see my bf. he lives on the other side of the country, so its train/plane (saving for a car, or trying to). then when im with him money goes on food, always go out for dinner or get takeaways, too lazy when were together. or else going to the cinema, getting a dvd, etc, its all money! & hes a poor student at the moment so i usually end up paying if hes coming to visit me or at least giving him something towards it.

other than that: dinner with friends, drinking (not too much lately though), go a bit mad shopping sometimes, work stuff (commuting & lunches, must start cutting down on buying lunch), attempting to save for a car but gotta pay for driving lessons too..

im actually surprised i have any money at all.

it's cheap going by the exchange rate. from that, everything is halfprice... if you shop in pak'n'save and get yourself a (free) metrocard, your basic food and transport will be pretty cheap.

i dont "blow" it on anything, i spend very little

most of it goes to the family, bills etc so im usually broke

Add me to team "eating out", it would be my main extravagance as i know i could buy the ingredients and cook at home, but when i'm tired and hungry i just couldn't be bothered.

Makeup is the big one for me, although shoes come in a close second...who needs food?!

only 16 and not working so have a very very very limited income but it would mainly get spent on drink and food

I go on shopping binges my new thing is underwear...before that was shoes...and then was hoodies, so most of my money goes clothes! The rest is on living it up aka booze , gigs, make-up and holidays! :p

I spend most of my money on cd's and gigs. Most gigs I go to are overseas so there's quite a bit of expense involved - flights, hotels etc but all of them are worth every cent. Last September I spent €1000 for 33 hours in Helsinki but it was the best 33 hours of my life.

I love spending money on plugs/body jewellery, and any quirky jewellery I can find on sites like etsy.com. (I think I'm just addicted to getting stuff in the post) I also love buying gadgets and their accessories, like cameras, mp3 players, stuff for my laptop and whatnot.

ha, reminds me of last summer, instead of going to a ****ty 2 day festival in kildare/******, i spent the same amount of money for a three day festival with return flights in nurburgring to germany.

best four and half days of my life. im still wearing the wristband.

Blow most of my money on tech gear- just bought an Asus eeePC, got an N70 at Christmas- and currently have my eye on a gorgeous looking Mac Airbook, it'll be a while though...... Ample holidays and eating out, take up most of the rest of my money (after bills and all the usual stuff that is).

My bf went to a four day festival in Serbia last year (Exit). His ticket cost him €75 for four days! So Crumble Froo is right, it's much cheaper to fly and go to European festivals then go to any Irish based ones.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

not to mention the bands were infinitely better, the atmosphere was electric (some of the guys i went to germany with went to ****** aswell, they said it was dead in comparison), and then there's the whole overseas experience, absolutely amazing weekend, one i sstill look back to now, just think of the good old days, just simple with good mates and music.

    pure perfection.

I'd love to go to that! Where did your b/f fly to?

75 euro sounds great to us but its probably more than a month rent in Novi Sad.

All my cash goes on making living day-to-day a little more pleasurable and enjoyable aka magazines, takeaways, a nice bottle of wine, a meal out with my boyfriend, a trip to the cinema, a new book. Yeah I blow on bigger things too; expensive face creams, designer clothes, the odd holiday. But apparently its the little day-to-day indulgences that keep us happier in the long term so it's justified :)

I blow my money on holidays, go on one long-haul and at least two shorter breaks every year.

No interest whatsoever in designer handbags, I think they're a total rip-off!

I suppose as I've got older I realise that more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better when it comes to cosmetics and shoes.
