Well, about the L96, after briefly trying a VSR and SSG 69, I still love my Maruzen L96. It's not cheap though, just loved the look of it.

So do I, but I'm not willing to spend that money on something that I'll rarely take out. I like the idea of being a sniper, but I know I wouldn't be an effective one. I want a bolt action solely for target use, maybe taking it out once in a while so unless I got good very fast, I'll stick to a marksmans rifle rather than a sniper for main use.

Exactly, I bought one myself last week when I was over in MIA, and like you I got it mainly for the very rare occasion that I will try out being a sniper but mainly for target practice at home

A question to any otther owners of this, the tip of the barrel looks like it can be removed, you can twist it a little either direction but i dont wanna just try and pull it off.

Is it a plug? Mine came with a blaze orange tip which screwed on and off. Well, with the help of some tools.

There's no point really taking it off. It's more than likely glued on.
