A bumper weekend of Footy on TV and an especially good time to be an Arsenal fan, we're on the TV shedloads over Chrimbo. Even the beeb have us on for the FA Cup.

Back to matters at hand, firstly the big match this weekend (imo of course ;)) is the Norf Landan Derby between my beloved Arsenal and Totteringham Hotspurs. Based on the kids performance midweek and the previous win over Chelski, coupled with the fact that Spurs are more than likely gonna have a Kaboul/Zokora CB pairing, I think we're value for the win.

Elsewhere on Saturday Villa-City should be the pick of the other matches which have quite a dull feel to them, but then again you would have said that about Wigan - Blackburn last weekend and look how that turned out... Pool - Pompey *should* be an emphatic Pool win (The Boooo-kies have Pompey at 7/1 ) but I'm thinking 'Arry will be having some of that 7/1 himself.

The matches on Sunday should be entertaining enough. Expect cards and tackles in the Blackburn-Chelsea match. The Utd-Everton match should have some good footy for the purist in it. Moyes has Everton playing nice football this season. Yakubu to score anyone? And Newky should continue on their Unbeaten run :p

And so ends my pointless spiel. :)

Nice start to the weekend with the derby. Hard to see past an Arsenal win although Spurs are starting to win and keep clean sheets now  so who knows

Man Utd Everton - This will be tough for Man Utd if they don't score early(ish) enough.

I reckon Liverpool Pompey could be a cracker to..

This weekend is absolutely huge, as big as last weekend. All the top 4 are playing the effectively next 4 top teams in the league. I think United have the toughest game of the 4, Everton are scoring for fun, and really getting stuck in. Gona be a lot of pressure on United to win this game, and I hope they can.
Arsenal and Spurs is a derby, anything can happen. Berbatov showed signs of getting back to form, so i'm hopeful :)
Portsmouth are gona give Liverpool some real problems imo, especially in terms of pace at the back. If it goes 4-4-2 from Rafa again, Liverpool might find themselves exposed. I'm hopeful that Liverpool can drop further points here, but they are a team who like to bounce back.
Blackburn I think might have the edge over Chelsea here, they have lots and lots of injuries at this stage.

Not to encourage betting or anything but Pompey are 7-1 for an away win at Anfield.

Anyone watching the London derby ? I havent watched much of Spurs this season but is Berbatovs body language always that bad ? Hes cursing everytime he isnt giving the perfect pass, throwing his arms up and making faces, hands on hips half the time. He really doesn't look arsed.

Also, Is Lennons crossing always this bad ? In regards to the match, Spurs are looking good..they could sneak a draw or even a win here.

i just threw a tenner on it, i feel so dirty. I think we'll win but after the last week of games who knows where the teams heads at!

    anyway 2 questions:

    1. why is the chelsea game scheduled for 16:10 tomorrow?

    2. who is o'hara for spurs?

    Yes

Yes.....he is still only gone 20 though and it is slowly improving.
    2. who is o'hara for spurs?

Young Arsenal trainee they released and we picked up. Just spent a few months at Millwall on loan where he impressed so Ramos gave him a couple of sub appearences against City and Pompey the last two games. He was very impressive on both occasions (he gave a tremendous ball to set up Steed Malbranque for a goal) and Jenas absence today left an opening and Ramos gave him the nod.

So far living up to expectations as I think he has been one of the best players on the pitch first half.

39% v 61% possession in favour of Spurs.

Unbelievable. I'd have put my house on Keano scoring the penalty. What a game to lose your form from the spot. And then the sucker punch. Fantastic game though.

Two things have surprised me today.

    1. The Arsenal performance-embarrassing for them imo. This is basically the second string Spurs team and we ran them close. I imagine that is pretty humiliating. I really dont think they will win the league if they play like that aginst our ressies.

    2. The Arsenal fans-Supposedly 55,000 of them in there today...can you hear them? no? didnt think so. Prawn sandwiches for everyone.

Like I said that was the second string Spurs team and they only squeked pass. Cant see them mantaining the pace for the rest of the season.

that has me in stitches, it really has. :D

Arsenal won a game they shouldn't have won. two stunning goals basically out of nothing. if that doesn't smack of league winning potential then seriously, i don't think anything can then. embarrassed? it's Spurs who should be, threw away another game.

Jesus christ, Keane's two best skills are probably his vollying and his penalty taking, and he missed absolute sitters today. Unreal, I really can't get over it. Also shoulda been a second penalty too but thats unlikely to happen.
Arsenal really really rode their luck today, but you gotta do that sometimes. However, I'm hopeful that they won't get so lucky some other days :)
I tell ya what tough, Berbatov is an amazing player. I watched him today, and I know he's been off-form, but its clear to me that he's just so frustrated with the lack of talent around him. His hold up play is actually out of this world. Long balls he controls instantly with one touch and no defender will close him down cause he's too quick and will beat them. His goal was amazing. He all round play was fantastic. His frustration was evident, but he's reminded me today why I want United to sign him so much.

Regardless of what anyone expected. Spurs could have won that game....but they didnt and they only have themselves to blame. Its Spurs that should be embaressed.

Arsenal are 4 points clear at the top of the table and somehow, at the end of the season, I don't think they are going to be saying 'great season...pity about that embarrassing win over Spurs though eh?'

Berbatov is a second string player? Keane, Malbranque, Lennon, Robinson, Chimbonda?

Arsenal were woeful but Spurs still couldn't capitalise. Lucky escape, but I can't see such a poor performance happening again any time soon.
