Hi, heading to New York in 2 weeks. Can I purchase tickets for a hockey game when I'm there. Tried a few companies online, some said they wont ship internationally. Thanks

Have you tried ticketmaster? You can collect at will call window. Rangers games rarely sell out so you should be able to get them locally. If you can I'd recommend going. Great craic

I went to an ice hockey match between New york rangers and New Jersey Devils..It was mighty crack, The rivalry is something similar to a cork and kerry match..The new york fans are brilliant and they boo the devils as soon as they come out, the best atmosphere is the seats at the top, near the back, thats where all the real newyorkers fans are..

+1, was over there for the Rangers-Canadiens in late December. I was surprised at how good the view was from the back as well, really easy to follow the puck.

I bought the tickets outside MSG for $100 a pop.

Might be a dumb question but when you arrive in NYC and get off the plane to get a cab and there is a guy standing alongside the line of yellow cabs who hails one for you is it necessary to tip him?

No, generally you don't need to tip him.

I would only tip him if he helped you with a lot of bags or something, but this is not his job. The driver would generally get out to help you.
