I don't think its a 416 but it does look close. It does not have all the vent openings a 416 has on the RIS, it only has a few up front. I think its a modded Armalite with a heavy barrel. The barrel is not notched down like a standard Armalite carbine variant.

Edit: Just did a photo check and the door gunner seems to be equipped with the short barrel variant of the 417. The vent slots of the short RIS on the 417 match the one on video.

There is also a better look around thr 3:13 mark, seems to have an unusual foregrip / handguard IMO

The give away is in the height of the upper receiver over a regular armalite and of course, the HK sights are still on the rifle.,:)

Wikipedia also confirms the 417 in use with the ARW so it must be true

You can see the H&K sight on the front of the upper in this pic, (notice the 14.5 barrel)


And in this one theres a QD silencer attached, (notice that HK upper, very distinctive. )

It was wrecking my head too until I took a still pic at 3:05 and tried to match it up with the various 416 and 417 variants. The still Richie has posted is a 417 with the 16'' barrel. At 3:05 in the vid, the 417 with the silencer looks to be the 12'' barrel variant.

Either way, someone somewhere, airsoft HK417 please.:)

417 stocks are readily available, but IMO the 416 is a better proportioned gun, the 417 looks very bulky. I suppose it's similar to the SCAR-L vs. SCAR-H argument, and it wouldn't make any difference in the airsoft world, but the larger calibre mag somehow looks wrong compared to the simply beautiful 416.

Who am I kidding? If TopTech were to release a 417 I would sell the wife to have one!

FPS: obviously under 1J. RoF: absolutely ridiculous, barely needs to stop to catch her breath when she's in full flow - a sight (earful!) to behold

Completely stock. Couldn't afford any major upgrades but she has stung me for some serious gucci bits (NEVER visit a Tiffany store with your wife!)

Xbox. Hmmmmmmm.

Never says no. Can be turned on just by pressing one button. Doesn't scream at you when you walk out of the room after casual use.

I would give it some serious consideration but I don't think they are great on cooking, cleaning, etc.
