Listening to the joe duffy programme liveline today about the calender and pole dancing ,seemed some people objected to both on the stance that womon were being exploited .....

The calendar exploits nothing, they already have jobs. They probably just want a it of attention from amorous male passengers asking about the mile high club. Or are being paid A LOT. or both.

I'm not even gonna try and get into pole dancing and exploitation. Bad vibrations.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,382 ✭✭✭✭AARRRGH

If a person chooses to do something, they're not being exploited. It amazes me the amount of feminists who don't believe women are able to choose what they want to do.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,191 ✭✭✭✭Latchy

Being honest ,who wouldent want the oppurtunity to be on a calender ? firemen do it for charity , as do other groups in society and it's nice change from the usual faces on calenders ie ,the Paris hiltons and jodie marshs of the world .

From the "Reading is fundamental" files... (AKA in the OP's link)
And though the girls are probably guaranteed to get flight-deck temparatures soaring, some might say they are not the best advert for children's charity Angels Quest, which will receive proceeds from the calendar.

    And further down the page.
The Girls of Ryanair Calendar 2008 will be available on board all flights from Saturday November 17, with money going to Angels Quest, which provides respite care for special needs children.

    NTM

lads this is all well and good but where's the calendar of men for us girls to look at? We do make up half of Ryanair's customer base.

What? Someone just catering for the male audience? Well I never...

What you need is the Stade Francais Rugby 2008 Calander!

    http://www.stade.fr/dieuxdustade/

Or pick up some of the older ones here (still strangely popular...!)

I think this is a classic case of seeing what you want to see. Or maybe you've just been unlucky. Plenty of hot male stewards. mmmm...

Ah! forgot about the French rugby one. And people say women are the fairer sex. Not IMO!

I'll stick to just downloading my soft porn thanks.
I'd appreciate it if Ryanair stuck to just offering us cheap flights with no bullsh*t and it'd be an added bonus if O'Leary would just STFU...

[edit] Hmm, Ms July could use a bath (or a shave? ;) )

Fair enough, hold my hands up, though honestly did not mean to generalise, but agree my post could be interpreted as such.

If Aer Lingus produced a calendar it would look like bath time in a nursing home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

if Ryanair made them dress like that all the time 'for charidee'
they'd probaby get a few more bookings

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,029 ✭✭✭HammerHeadGym

Anyone else find it wierd how they use the word dubious 3 times in the first few lines? NIce chicks too. Never seen girls that nice one any of the ryanair flights I've been on mind you.

The first pic is presumably the reason why Ryanair pilots never seem to remember to land anywhere near the city they are allegedly flying to ... :(

Hopefully. Less clothes = cheaper costs = cheaper flights.

So I'll be flying in April......

I always knew that the baggage limits would come to this. "Ryanair woud now like to inform its customers of a Clothes Tax that has been implemented due to rising fuel costs. €20 per garment."

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 7,486 ✭✭✭Red Alert

I'm sure the feminists will be out in force on this one.

I think the calendar actually looks quite classy indeed.

Is it just me or are they actually pretty plain looking girls. Photoshop and trowels of makeup can do wonders.

I was on a Ryanair flight from Bristol yesterday. €7. I just bought it to get rid of my change but I think I was the only person.
