airsofteire do you know what the STAR M4A1's fps is? and what its like to handle..etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 769 ✭✭✭AirsoftEire.com

    Hey RC.
I'm going to be careful about what i say here as this seems to be a a sensitive subject for a few people, but it boils down to the Star M4s being over the limit.

We have the Star M4A1s shipped to us with their springs removed (very easy on the Star models) and we modify them to shoot just under the limit.

You can be sure that if you order one from abroad, it will undoubtably be over the limit.

Lovely piece, very accurate finish and engravings, authentic wieght too.

Just a question about the above charger I just got off you...how do I know when the battery is fully charged, when it starts beeping like mad?

I don't like messing around with these things but there's something loose & rattling inside, is it safe to open? The top shield is dented slightly could this have caused some damage?

I just got one of those chargers too. Great service from AE, I'm happy to report.

The light will change to "Slow," assuming you were charging it on 'fast', and it'll beep.

    Mine doesn't rattle.

It's probably not safe to open. If it's got capacitors inside, and I assume it does, you could get seriously hurt by touching them. If it's damaged, talk to AE about getting a replacement.

We have noticed the very very odd one (as in 2 in over hundred ) has a rattling noise, caused by a small plastic clip. We must have overlooked your one.
It's perfectly safe to use, but if you wish to return it, we'll accept it back and send you another.

I set it to discharge and then recharge, after the discharge it started beeping at regular intervals (charging I assume) then it beeped like mad. Had to unplug it or it would have woken the childer, :) I guess the charge was done at that stage.

Good point, didn't think of that.

Hi Steve, no it's fine, if it's not going to interfere with its operation then there's no problem.

I got it wrong last night, hit the button 4 times expecting it would discharge and then recharge. Went to show some lads the gun today and the battery was dead. bugger. :(

Press it twice - it beeps twice.

    Discharge
Slow Charge (For a few mins)
Fast normal charge - Set it to the lowest A rating, so you'll get as max a capacity as you can for your battery. It'll switch back to slow charge when done.

So set it to 1 on fast charge rather than 2-2.5? I'll try it when i get home.

You can set it to what you want really. If I'm wanting to get as best a charge I can out of it, I'll set it to 1. If I'm in a hurry, I'll set it to 5.5 :)

5.5?? Sure you won't melt the battery? :)

Nope, been using them for years like that. It's fine, just won't get as much charge into it as a lower setting would.

Hey guys, when will you be getting the STTi Pistol case back in stock? I want a nice case for my USP, but all I've got in the way of containers is a 40kg safe; not quite the ideal solution for carrying one's airsoft gear around!

It'd be nice if we could pre-order stuff like Tony allows on Eirsoft, or perhaps have a notification option where we'd get an E-mail once a wanted item comes into stock. I don't mind waiting.

    Hi LSnK.
You can set up a notification for when an item comes back in stock, simply click Add To Cart for the item thats out of stock and you can enter your email there. And we also accept pre-orders and product requests, just drop us an email.

As for the STTi case, i'm not sure when it will be back in stock, probably a few weeks as i'm not sure we'll be getting many more. This is because we have much better pistol case arriving to replace it, it will be about eur29.99 and is much higher quality. We should have it in about 14 days.

Your order will go out today Exneigh. ;)

Good thing you posted that, I was about to buy it...

Will the newer case be ABS or metal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 769 ✭✭✭AirsoftEire.com

It's made from aluminium, the HFC pistol case:

Possibly, we might be getting in some of those large cases that come with our Star UMP.
The biggest problem is shipping them though, it's gonna cost a fair whack.
