the gt40 doors open up rather than out

They do open out, just take a portion of the roof with them

laughable styling around the door hinge area. looks like it was designed by a child. i dont see whats so great about the gt40 tbh.the likes of ferrari would produce an arguably much better car than the gt40.
Part of the greatness of the GT40 was the fact that it kicked Ferraris ass in Le Mans. It was a thoroughbred racing car and not really designed as a fashion icon like most supercars (including Ferrari).
The new GT40 is almost a clone of the original.

Well, the name's different. The new one is just called the Ford GT.

[pedant]And it's around 43 inches from ground to roof, as opposed to the original 40[/pedant] ;)

No, it's not a GT500, the GT500 had long rear lights. Looks like a Mach 1. Damn sexy car it is though!

Just in reference to the guys saying that all the interesting cars have been pictured on Irish roads by now. I'd be very interested if anyone captured the new ford GT (apparently only one in Ireland has just been delivered). Was test driven in the sunday times this weekend, took it up the blesington road....presume away from tallaght! Now that's a car worth taking a pic of.

woops, yea just saw that. Nice job, that car is something else. I wonder who owns that, all they said in the review was that it was a car collecter who already had "a couple of astons". Some people get all the luck. cheers

    06 D89 Convertible !

I dont like the looks of the new XK8 at all, the old one was far nicer, terrible reliability though !

Just saw a Rolls Royce Phantom coming out of Molloy's in Clonsilla/Blanch, being driven by a superbly eccentric looking 40-something. They're mighty....I'll never mistake a Chrysler 300C for one again!
