I'd be disappointed if we didn't win by 50 points. It might take twenty minutes or so to assert total dominance, but I think Eddie's professionalism should ensure we don't ease off for the 80 mins, especially now that points difference will be so pivotal.

They should win by a margin of at least 50 points.

    No problem.

I think we all would be worried if we didnt but up 50 points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,616 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Excitement mounting here. I reckon we should win this by 50+ points but being the first game expect Namibia to bring the fight to Ireland early in the game before collapse (hopefully).

Lets hope there are no injuries to our big hitters.

Yep, but better we choked a bit against Namibia than France or Agentina which would surely punish us badly.

70 pts handicap advantage for namibia was even money in the bookies, today, thats a great bet.

If you get excited waiting for the Namibia game, I'd hate to see you against Georgia. Ireland won't make it out of this group.

Anyone expecting anything other than a drilling for Namibia here is smoking something illegal.

Watching on ITV at the moment.

These commentators are making Ryle Nugent look like a Young Munster veteran

"john" driscoll was mentioned after the try

Slightly sloppy play, some mistakes thre that better opposition would punish us for. Hopefully just opening nerves playing a part.

Its early days to be forecasting our demise from the group.

I'm not that concerned to be honest, Namibia are throwing everything bar the kitchen sink at us currently, they will collapse like Canada etc around the 50 -60 min mark hopefully.

I am listening to BBC five live on the web, stupid ITV only shows it on UTV and ITV4

was thinking O'Gara is a little rusty myself

Anyone know the fitness levels of these Namibian lads?

Following the game through the BBC website and this thread and 20 points from the first half seems disappointing, we really need to start firing on all cylinders and knocking up a cricket score...

Why? Once we win the game and the get the 4-try bonus (which we definitely will) then it doesn't really matter whether the final margin is 45 or 65. Better that the Namibians stick with it and stay competitive rather than chucking the towel in (like the Italians did yesterday) and handing us a few easy tries.

Not overly concerned here, I'll take 20-3 at half time. Namibia will surely tire late in the game, hope we have enough killer instinct to ratchet up the scores then.

Strange. I just get a 'due to contractual reasons we can't broadcast this content', not sure of my ISP here. Found I can alter the proxy on one of the machines but haven't found a uk one that's working :(

This is fecking shocking, picked up right where we left off with the Italians the other week.

    Huh, why??
Canada lead Wales at half time before Wales ran riot late in the game. This is a similar side, I'm hoping the same thing happens in this game.

ireland are alright, if they can cut out the unforced errors, we should see more points on the board.

But this being "the group of death" tm, Shouldn't we be worried about points difference when it comes to qualifying as France and Argentina could be on the same points as us? We need to capitalise against Georgia and Namibia?
