I saw this in the news earlier on today and was stunned at how people could do something like that. It's sad and horrifying at the same time. sadists.

That's a horrible story. I'm surprised they weren't given life sentences for what they did to that poor man.

Bloddy Hell, i think the punishment is a joke considering the victim will probably never recover.

hating to compare levels of sickness and stuff... but this particular one here just ... entirely whole new levels of wrongness and just general sickness, IMO.

I'd say there's a pretty good chance that he won't recover:

    The victim died.

The courts could not prove it was murder because he suffered from epilepsy and they could not rule out the possibility he died from that.

    Highly unlikely imo.

On the BBC they said he was fed scraps, potato peelings etc. They also found traces of weed killer in his blood stream.

You're so right, he probably will never recover especially considering he's dead?

The victim is dead... you might want to give that article a second read.

Pure evil scumbags.... 6 weeks is a long time not to grow a conscience. How the f*ck do people like this exist?

I hope they become someone's b*tches in prison.

I don't want to look at that last link, the news tonight was scary enough. But also didn't the judge in the case call the victim naive? Isn't that silly? Anyway.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,368 ✭✭✭thelordofcheese

I'm actually stunned. Thats hideous, what would drive people to do that?

****... if anyone wants me, i'll be in the corner, wondering what the hell is wrong with people.

I have to agree with Drax, it's shocking but mostly saddening to think that people like this exist in a supposedly civil society.

Well the shed looks pretty full of tools... he'd be pretty naive to not have tried escaping.

Fair enough, but this story is still fairly new. Does anyone know what his mental capacity was? It's all well and good to say he's naive, but if he had a reduced mental capacity that would make some sense of the situation.

He had epilepsy. It may be categorised as a mental illness, but it doesn't result in the person being mentally retarded (I DO NOT mean that term in a derogatory way)

Those people should have got a life sentence.

I agree that the sentence is a joke, but is everyone REALLY that surprised that this stuff happens? There are people out there that do much much much worse stuff involving cannibalism, torture, rape, and God knows what else. While this story is sickening, I wouldnt exactly call it shocking. Just another passing article in a litany of utter misery that can at times be the modern world we all live in.

No matter what horrors you can dream up, chances are someone out there is doing it to someone else.

Tis pretty gruesome alright but I've heard worse..

The worst I've heard was a case in England where a young female student went missing.. She turned up dead in the house of a young couple from her college and the things they had done to her were unspeakable.. So if you're sqweemish don't read on..

They tormented her for days, they scalped her while she was still alive and let their todler wear her scalp and hair as a wig.. they burnt her eyes out with a hot poker.. while she was STILL alive, before finally killing her.. Sick sick puppies :o

Jamie Bulger anyone? What ever about adults commiting crimes against other adults, involving children at any point is something I find very hard to read about or see on the news. Jamie Bulgers case jumps to my mind when I try to think of the worst things I've heard about.

    Cheers

Indeed, I was just thinking about how sick people can be yesterday after I heard what those pieces of **** in Limerick did to Neil (?) Campion's dog just for ****s and giggles.

Some people really don't deserve to share the planet with the rest of us. I'm actually quite sick that these guys got off murder on a technicality - the evidence is overwhelming beyond a reasonable doubt that they killed him, even when you take his epilepsy into account.

Filthy fúcks don't deserve to be hanged, that's too good for them. They need to be put into solitary confinement for the rest of their lives fed on scraps. An eye for an eye!

Wasn't there a story recently where a woman had 3 adopted kids locked up like prisoners in England. She barely ever let them out and shoved sticks down their throats, for fúck sake.

Shít like this makes you want to take the law into your own hands and give them the "appropiate" justice they deserve.

Just as a point of interest, the saying "an eye for an eye" is actually a limiting measure: the meaning is "an eye for an eye and no more". Therefore if they were to be paid back equally for what they did they would experience exactly the same kind of treatment as their victim for exactly the same length of time.

This Abrahamic law was used so that if I accidentally killed your sheep, you could only kill one of my sheep in return and not, say, burn my house down.

    ]]

(Tangent aside...) Those kinds of reports are just so depressing. :(

What a bunch of sick, sick fúcks. Forget imprisonment for these bastards, long and slow torture until they die is what they need.

Cue politically correct arses whining about stooping to their level.

It's crazy really, there's all these horror movies (especially the latest Gorn movies like Saw, etc) meant to horrify us with human depravity but nothing ever gets me as deep as reading stuff like this; the deep, deep sea of humanity! It's a brutal image when you try and put yourself in the victim's place like the guy locked in the shed or the 3 adopted kids.

It's amazing how people can mentally turn out this way upon others, especially children. For people like these, fúck their rights! Where were the rights for their victims?

Speaking of horror movies - they actually videoed the poor bloke:

And to think these people were actually living a few miles away from me...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

Yeah, I heard about that. Is it not a tad distasteful to put it online? By the way, I didn't watch it - wouldn't have the stomach for it. I read a transcript of the dialogue though - chilling stuff. The poor, poor guy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,766 ✭✭✭Reku

They should be locked up for life IMO, the simple fact that they could continue to hold the poor man prisoner after inflicting such horrific torture upon him shows how little humanity and remorse they have. Continuing to get pleasure from treating him like that and video taping it... They should be put in an asylum for life as clearly they are not safe for others to be around, who's to say that someone else won't do something that they will then hold against the person and decide once again to try this?

You left out the bottomless well of filth we call the internet.
But seriously, there is so much depraved bullshít avaiable for consumption 24/7 now that I do wonder about the unpleasant effects it could be having on the sociopaths among us.
