I am going to go for one of these too. I am going to be using it in work on my breaks to go on boards and the like. I was wondering about getting a keyboard for it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can't wait till next Friday, happy days.....PAY DAY!!!! Im going to place my order then. Should there be any problems?

Is the micro-mmc on 7day shop compatible with the 770, as i heard that they were different to rs-mmc cards?

**sorry ignore my sillyness, just checked and it will work

RS-MMC and MMC-Mobile are the ones you want to look for :) MMC-Mobile is faster, so if you're planning on booting from your memory card or using it for a swap partition, go for mobile.

You could set up a vnc server on the car pc, then use the 770 to connect to it and control it. I don't know how it would work without a hardware monitor being connected though.

Canola should do the trick. Supposed to be a whopper all round media player. I believe it does podcasts.

The difference in price between the bundle with the 1gb card is only 39 cent!!!, so i went for the cheaper one.....obviously;)

Spotted this listed as a bargain on the UK version of Expansys on HotUKDeals.com and it's a similar price on Expansys.ie so here's the link and here's a nice in-depth review of the item at hand

Thank you for the tip-off. Wouldn't have considered one but now I know how much I need it! Got it for E132 incl 1gb card.
Now I've got an electric chainsaw & an internet gadget that I hadn't budgeted for on my next cc bill!

Haven't had a chance to try it out properly yet.

I'm in work and we don't have a wireless network, so it will have to wait until I get home.

In very general terms, its smaller and lighter than I thought, the screen is excellent. Operation in general may take some time to master.....we'll see.

Will post up more details on the internet capabilities later on.

Pity Play.com don't ship this sort of thing to Ireland, its listed as 108.49 europeans.:(

Connection to my N95 is spot on. V. fast loading pages at present, though I'm on PDA specific pages mainly. No wifi connection to check speeds on that. Will have to wait til I get home. Installed FBreader and reading away here on my lunch. Screen is very good, resolution is very nice but a little underwheleming in the contrast stakes. Overall a bargain at the money even as an ebook reader which was my primary reason for purchase.

I don't think it can play flash videos so I may not bother getting one.

Mine arrived today! Prob won;t get a chance to use it untill wednesday though! sickened!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,452 ✭✭✭thehomeofDob

I tried posting on mine in work, but it wouldn't go through. Boards is very slow on it. I'm home now, and it won't pick up my wireless network. It's a belkin54g router. The 770 picks up a shed load of my neighbours networks, yet not mine. It worked just fine at work on a belkin router. Damn!

Question to all those go bought from expansys. Did yours come with an uk charger? mine came with a U.S. one, I'll have to get back onto them.

Mine arrived in a bashed up box. I collected it from the DHL office and when I opened it and the screen was smashed.

I went back into the guy in DHL and he recorded that it was smashed. I am trying to contact Expansys now on the phone, but it is just a really irritating recorded message! Has anyone ever had to return anything to Expansys?
