guys is there any risk in upgrading to 1.1.4 from 1.1.3. i used ziphone to unlock it but i regret not using iplus.

I'm able to install some apps.. installed some games. Also, I wasn't able to download Open SSH earlier.. It tried it there but wont finish cause I need to install BSD first...

Is it possible that the server its trying to download from is down???

Could be as it happened to me when trying to download Simport from rep.frenchiphone.com. One night it would just not install the next morning it installed in a flash. One other thing there was a Community resources update over the last 48hrs, might you need to update that.

Got it!!! Uninstalled Community Resources and reinstalled it... BSD is downloading now.. Its weird, I tried to uninstall it earlier n it wouldn't work...

After I've this and SSH installed is there anything else I should do?? Also what apps would u recommend??

The NES emulator then add s.apfelphone.net to your sources that is a small L not a capital I in afpelphone

MX tube is pretty good as well lets you save youtube videos to the phone

Guys, What sort of earphones are people using. I'm looking for ones that are 1: Phone compatable i.e. have microphone and button to pause tracks and put tracks on etc.
2: Are similar lenght to the supplied ones.
3: Sound awesome and don't need an adapter.

Has anyone used the vmode ones on the apple store Ireland?

The vmoda vibe duo with mic and control looks good. I've found in the past that investing in earphones is a good idea. Especially when the phone is so expensive in the first place. You could also have a go at the hack jobs on the net. I've seen some good results where people have put their fav earphones onto the apple cord with mic and clicker.

Hey everyone,
Am literally just back from NYC with a shiny new Iphone. And now all I have to do is the simple matter of unlocking it...however, I have looked through the thread and I am pretty clueless as to how to proceed!

I haven't even turned it on yet incase it locks or something!

I am on Vodafone and would like to use it on that network?

Would I just be better off paying to get it unlocked or is it easy enough (bearing in mind I'm useless when it comes to this kind of thing!)

Similar as the above poster, 8G iphone on the way from America. My question is whay SIM card, if any should be in the iphone during the unlocking, activation and jailbreaking procedure??? I have monthly paid Vodafone and intend to use this in the iphone.

Its dead easy, takes about 10-15 mins in all to do...

U can have ur sim in while unlocking it or put it in afterwards.. I did both n it made no difference

what do u do after u add s.apfelphone.net to the sources, it didnt seem to change anything for me?

if you did it properly you will have 2 new folders when you click install

Got it unlocked...thanks. The only thing is...how on earth do I get the sim card in? Do I need a special tool to insert into the tiny hole at the top of the phone?

don't know about you but it's impossible to find a paper clip in my house.

staple or pin is my preferred method of getting the sim tray out.

1. My iPhone, 1.1.2 OTB, currently on 1.1.3 using windows ziphone gui (firmware 04.02.13_G...4.6 bootloader (wasn't downgraded tp 3.9 bootloader thank christ). Thinking of going to 1.1.4. Now my questions are probably anal but have fecked it up before without getting all my facts straight).

Q1. Was going to use iLiberty+ http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=849 Any known issues with this tutorial? Is their a safe PWNage tutorial for windows out there (could only find MAC version)
Q1. It says to restore your iPhone to 1.1.4 using iTunes. This mean simply plug in phone and hit restore in itunes and then follow the tutorial? Looks too simple.
Q2. Will I lose all that I have installed on my phone (installer, BSD, Bossprefs, OpenSSH, swirlyMMS etc etc)?
Q3. Will I lose my contacts, safari favourites (presume when sync after change it will get them back)?
Q4. If yes to above is it worth the change to 1.1.4?

1 No and No Pwnage is not available on windows yet

1 again ( i see counting is not a strong point:D ) Yes you can download the firmware first then shift restore

2 if you restore yes

3 yes and No as the advice is to set it up as a new phone so you will get your contacts back but not bookmarks etc

Good news for myself and Cremo (and numerous others i'd say).

Bit wary to do it though.. that whole area seems to scare me as if something was to go wrong in that area, odds are you'll end up with a bricked phone.

I read it's only supported under v1.1.4 but not v1.1.3.. something about they don't have the firmware for it.

Currently 1.1.3 and used Ziphone 2.5 to unlock so stuck on 3.9BL (well until the devteam came up with the above). How do I get to 1.1.4 without losing any settings etc etc?
