Cannot believe I am agreeing with you, Gopher. Am always reading on here the whole "Polish girls are better looking than Irish girls" and "Irish men are lazy" bollocks and it gets annoying after a while. I'm sure there are lazy Poles out there too, actually I know there are. Just as there are lazy Irish and hard working Irish.


As for the better looking women. Is everyone out there really that shallow?

Well here's the way I see it. I rate foreign girls a lot more than Irish girls because Irish girls tend to wreak my f*cking head and I like to convince myself that these girls won't. This may or may not be the case, but there's the devil I know and a glimmer of hope...

Gopher, you'd want to get over your issue with Spanish Women, you need to go to Madrid, rather then relying on your companies team of Northern Spanish Senora's they are mostly ugly when copared to Madrid Girls. Problem is that the good looking ones don't hang around here too long due to the cold weather etc.

Yeah these sort of AH threads are getting very repetitive. It seems that most of the time somebody starts an 'Eastern European' thread in AH they immediately get jumped on by the PC brigade and it ends up bouncing back and forth until it gets locked.

IMO Irish people work as hard as Polish people so I'm not sure where that whole debate started. Maybe it is the fact that most Eastern Europeans are working for 3 times the salary that they would get back in their home country and there could be a perception that they could feel obliged to try and work harder for it??? Plus I wouldn't generalize and say that all Poles are really hard workers, we have only seen around 200,000 young & ambitious ones, what about the other 38 million of them back home? They have 13% unemployment, that is nearly 5 million people unemployed.

As for the women debate, different strokes for different folks. Irish and Eastern European girls both have unique qualities that IMO balance each other out. In most cases Eastern Europeans have the looks and Irish girls have the personality and sometimes visa versa. There is no defined answer, everybody has a different opinion of this.

Thats a % of total labor force, not total population. So maybe 2.2m.

Poland also has a high employment rate as there hasn't been the traditiion of man:work woman:housewife.

It's no longer a case of "She's a minger" it's more along the lines of "All irish girls are mingers, she's typical" and so on.

I've worked with some hard-working poles, I've worked with some absolutely dodgy geezer poles who stole and skived. I've never thought to myself that either behaveour is typical of a nationality, but rather that such behaveour is typical of the person acting in such a manner.

But christ lads, I really have to agree with Tha Gopher, get over all this foreign national brown-nosing. It's nausiating, ridiculous, and shows off a kind of self-hatred that's all too common.

Besides, the Japanese have everyone beat.

I agree 100%, Japanese women are savage. QFT though, the ridiculous generalising that goes on is fairly sad.

I was actually referring to the fact that you are just judging them by their looks. Poles might be better looking but Irish girls can't be beaten for a bit of craic

Yeah fair enough...A lot of the Easto's can have a certain 'Iron Lady' quality.

tbh ive wondered if the med has a north south divide. Most of the Spaniards/Italians seem to be from the north of both countries. You then think of the young ones who come over during the summer, and that episode of the Sopranos with the Napolitian female mob boss (:eek: :eek: ) and I do wonder if maybe we are sourcing our staff from the wrong end of the country.

As for the Asian thing Ive always regarded Vietnamese and Thai women as far more worthy of getting the japs eye than the actual Japanese and their dodgy pr0n but different strokes etc

The chinese work damn hard, and I worked with them in Malaysia and in Ireland. But there are the overseas chinese and the mainland chinese, and theres a huge cultural difference between the two kinds of chinese.

As for not drinking, they can knock it back. The ones who don't, or cannot drink are capable of chucking away amphetamines at an astonishing rate. I've had nights out with chinese malaysian work colleagues that made Caligula look like a cartoon at childrens hour. I'd try and keep a level head amidst the chaos of girls chasing men, men chasing girls, men chasing men, girls chasing girls, all strung out on alcohol, and various illegal substances, Hennessy Cognac, and various illegal substances flying around like Guinness at an Irish wedding. This, in Kuala Lumpur of all places, where you would expect such conduct to land a death sentence. All while being encouraged to join in. The air con was deliberately turned off, so that there was no choice but to join the party in my underwear, while the foam was turned on as well.

This would go on until 7am. Everyone collapsed and flaked out for an hour. Woke up at 8am, office at 9am. All as if NOTHING had happened.

NO....not quite.

Business meetings take place in knocking shops the same way we drink in bars. Thats some culture shock. Life is lived at an incredibly fast pace. Many are burnt out by 35 or 40, quit the hard lifestyle, but by that stage, they have made enough money to sustain them for the rest of their lives.

When it comes to working hard and playing hard, they take some beating. I spent 9 months of 80 hour weeks, followed by a drinking session and a poker game combined, on an almost nightly basis, while I helped prepare for operations to be transferred to Malaysia. I stayed out of the Poker games, the stakes were too high, and they are not afraid of gambling mental amounts of money in relation to their salaries.

In their favour, they work damn hard, and I had the motivation to keep up with them. My motivation was sunshine, and a new culture. So I earned my place in the sun through grim winter nights in Ireland, and got transferred.

Against, Mainland chinese can be horrendously rigid in their thinking patterns. The overseas chinese on the other hand (Malaysian, Singaporean, Taiwanese, and BBC), are friendly, with a ruthless streak, and a lot would sell their Grannies for 5 Euro if it got them further. Dissent, or disagreement is dealt with in a Borg like fashion. Thats one of the reasons why there are a small number of Europeans where I work. The chinese staff won't disagree, even when something is blatantly wrong. We will.

Travel and interaction with other cultures made me realsie no race or country is perfect on one hand, or bad on the other. Take the good and look at that. We're too ready to criticise. If anything is bad, sometimes the bad can be fun.

For the record recently I have found irish girls to be bitchy to one another and a general pain in the ass to deal with. From my experiences with Czech and Polish women there is no problem. Also with Irish women who are used to working and dealing with lads on a normal level, they generally have a better attitude as well.
