I have a pristine 2010 Griffiths EU manual, up-to-date on Lisbon etc, willing to straight-swap for very recent and clean Grif or Ind on Company, Equity, Constitutional or Criminal - if you've plastered your book with fluorescent highlighters don't bother contacting me! For cash if you've no swap - €70.

If you've no suitable manual to swap and you're experiencing a liquidity crisis, try me with woodworking tools, film/digital cameras, musical instruments/amp/pedals ;-)

    PM to make arrangements.

Might be better put on the exams thread in terms of responses, but to answer your question - know the new Act well, it affects loads of areas. It has appeared on the syllabus this time, it wasn't on it in March 2010. Old reliables would be adverse possession, lease-license, easements/profits-a-prendre, maybe treasure trove but it was on the March paper, succession.

I could be all wrong, just my own tactics.

looking for any of the griffith manuals, the more recent the better, would be interested in buying all 8 if reasonably priced :) can collect if in cork/kerry

also would any1 say the equity manual would substitute hillary delany's equity and the law of trusts in ireland sufficiently because its the 1 book i didnt buy in coll and its so expensive :( so i was hoping to get away with a griffith manual just

also could anyone tell me what the story is with buying the materials you can bring in? how much are they out of interest? (horrendous im sure )

Look at post 347. lots of trust material there. I personally find that recent journal articles available on westlaw (if you have a sub to it) are as good if not better than textbooks, once you have chosen the topics you want to cover in any given subject area. Prof Hilary Delany in fact writes a fair bit in the journals.
Also, if you are buying books and the budget is finite, be a bit clever about it. Suppose the current edition of - say - Trietel on Contract is the 18th edition (just a wild guess). If you look at ebay.co.uk you will get 17th editions for around a fiver, especially during college summer holidays. I've done that right though college, so in tort I have a full-price McMahon & Binchy for the Irish law - brilliant book anyway, but I also have a Lunney & Oliphant and a Cheshire Fifoot & Furmston bought for peanuts. They are useful in a few ways - if you can't easily grasp a concept in one book, another one might express it in a way that suits you better; if you're doing an essay, you can quote from all three, and a book that takes a 'cases and materials' approach will give you big chunks of the cases, focusing on the relevant bits only, so you get the 'story' of the case in your head and can discuss it knowlegably and hopefully impress the examiner with your wide-ranging research. The extent to which they will be out-of-date won't be significant in relation to core principles.

What's the view here on people who agree deals for books, manuals etc by personal message and in the end don't keep them? should they be 'outed' here to save everybody from being stiffed?
