    Exactly, Republican groups have members with shaved heads and tracksuits who live in very poor areas, they may look "dodgy" to some elements of our society but they aren't involved in the thuggery they could have been involved in had they chose to do so. I usually find comments are made by people who don't actually know any Republicans.
    Besides even if FTA was in the IRA he wouldn't necessarily meet a thug.

    Spot on again. Most people of that persuasion are normal people who work normal jobs and are often respected within their communities, don't believe the stereotypes.

    To stick to the topic though, the PDs get guff because they are percieved as representing the erichest of this state's elite. They are also led by the most odious man in Irish politics today.
