LOL!! I won my $215 entry fee through winning a 27 runner $15 fixed limit Omaha tourney on Stars (I essentially ran better than Zeus, Apollo and Allah combined). Ah well.

Really? Remarkable that you get lucky playing this tournament with such consistency every Sunday night!!

Whoever wins this bloody tourney will have to get very, very, very lucky though. Ah, but you can't beat a mad gamble on a Sunday night. :)

The name change is due to a horrendous run of bad cards since Christmas. My previous name was becoming a cruel joke. I am "lofarrell" on Stars.

20k - after playing a hand like a twat and rivering two pair to crack Kings. I suck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,441 ✭✭✭jhegarty

down to 7k after slow playing trip a's into a 8 high flush...

then flop trip jacks and a guy bets 3k each street with ace high.... 16k

41,900. Fluky double up a few hands in, then got it in with TPTK on the flop against a pair and flush draw - I won the flip and am in decent shape. Early days though.

Get it in with Top pair on the flop against an 8 high flush draw in a pot that gets me up to 45 BBs. He turns it.

Folded to me on the small blind and I push with A9 for 7 BBs. He calls with K3o and rivers a King - pot gets me back to 15 BBs.

I run so bad whenever it remotely matters. **** this game.

I know its hard to hear but bad beats are the sign of a good player and the variance will turn and you will have another big win and happy days...

they ask each player for permission to reveal holecards. Some refuse

Just a question about my busto hand in this thread if anyone is interested.

That hand when he led the flop I fiqured he had either a naked FD or a combo draw (50/50) and I debated for a while between flat calling his small bet and raising. In the end I decided he was ~65% likely to have a naked FD and ~35% likely to have a combo draw and hence I raised and got AI.

Should the fact that I there was 921 left and 900 get paid alter my decision in any way?

Well, some will argue that if you are so sure about where you are in the hand, you should play it cautiously allowing you an exit if you get beat on a later street and an abillity to get through the bubble and cash.

That being said, you are certain that you have an edge and your best chance to get his money in is on the flop. You win the hand, you are in great shape to progress well after the bubble bursts.

Are you playing to win or to cash? I think you played it fine.
