I think a few of us from around these parts should go and have a few beers, talk training and generally have a good laugh! It will also be real nice to put some names to faces, meet up with other people from other boards and generally have a good time!

So, who's up for it.

I'll be there anyway. It's actually a target of mine to be in noticeably better shape than I was in at the last beers.

Actually this is kind of important. I know the nature of this forum is pretty aesthetic and some would even say a little superficial (well come on, I dare anyone to say that "looking good" isn't rather high on their list of reasons to go to the gym"!!!).

But frankly, balls to that (sorry for swearing dave )!! I for one will most certainly and defintiely not be judging anyone on how they look or what kind of shape they're in. We're all constantly trying to improve ourselves, some of us have been at this longer than others and so naturally will be bigger/ stronger/ leaner or whatever than others. But so what?!? This will just be a great opportunity to meet up, have a laugh and talk rubbish (well that's what usually happens when the TTers get together anyway )

In fact I'll say here and now that the Beers night will be a week after my comp and I can guarantee you I won't be looking hugely lean or anywhere near the way I did at the end of the cut a few months ago because that's not what my training is geared towards at the moment. ACtually come to think of it, walking upright will be a major achievement given what I'm going to put myself through!!

So what if anyone doen't feel they're not in the best shape they could be? As long as you're doing something about it that's all that matters right? Hell, if we all looked perfect all the time there wouldn't be a need for the forum in the first place would there??

Right you've convinced me, plus I really really want to hear what how the competition goes for you. Now has a date been set for the beers? In the meantime I'll still be working out and as soon as I get some proper runners I plan to start running on the days I'm not lifting, so there will hopefully be some changes for the better between now and then in any case.

I would just like to say thanks a million for what you just said. I tend to get slated when i post on this forum and was gettin a bit pissed. But i have to say you have given me hope. first thing i thought was defo not goin cause of the state i'm in. What you said was really cool.

In fairness it shouldnt matter what you look like,this isnt a forum for supermodels or film-star-quality superhunks(although i do post here:D ).Its a forum where people discuss aspects of health and fitness,whether they want to lose weight,gain weight,eat better,win mr olympia or walk to work instead of driving.I've allways enjoyed the relative lack of conflict and the quality of the advice and feedback,and i couldnt care less who looks better than whom!

Guys in kinda works both ways as well…. I know for a fact that I would be a little bit nervous of people having an "image" in there head that maybe I did not live up to? Like I go to the boards beers and people say "whats, that’s him?" but screw that.

We know we all have two things in common, one is alcohol, the other is working out, so lets all just show up and have a good laugh! Anyone who would judge you on what you look like will get a stern talking to and will be striken from Santa's Christmas list!

Well i met Degsy 1st off, thanks to a mutual friend, and he introduced me to g'em, who i made the mistake of congratulating her one again, she then hopping in to Oscar mode and the acceptance speech came out . i joke of course, lovely Girl, and you never really realize how friendly she is until you meet her.

i think i was introduce to Dragan then, literally it was a ohh hey youre ... and shake hands, it was tough to get around to everybody with out loosing people or being rude and jumping in to a conversation. i know i met jsb, dont worry i'll pass on you're msg to Mark.

And i deffo met at least three other people, none of which i can remember as to who they were.. so please feel free to make you're self known now.

All in all a good night,and it was great to finally put faces to names, well a few of them any way.
