to be honest it took me quite a while to fold the AJ hand as i had seen him so often limp with AK.AQ/QQ+ and then push. prob about 3-4 times at final table so i was a little wary of it. i also thought i could outplay him post flop, as there was so much play left. i just didnt know where i was in the hand and didnt want to double him up so easily.

AA raise, and one caller flop - QQ8.
Hardly a card rack now jeff.

absolutley put him on a small pair to which i am favourite and i wasnt afraid to put my chips in. the look on his face was priceless though.

Well played Joe. I cant believe Vinny managed to win considering he was locked at the first break!!!!

Some tough beats and you didnt quite tell all the hands properly. I vaguely remember a K hitting the turn when you had KK and flop was AAQ!!!

In my opinion, its definitely a call against Vinny when its heads up and you have AJ. He was never going to play many flops so no chance to outplay him properly even with you both having decent stacks.

Well done Joe, nice result. Sounds like you played a pretty good tournie. I'd defo have called the allin with the AJ HU. Especially as it was the first hand.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,398 ✭✭✭Goodluck2me

i probably didnt call as it was the first hand, and i wanted to see how it would pan out. we had seen plenty of flops three handed and i knew i could take him heads up. he tried to offer me 700 when the structure was 1500-750!lol. he was that drunk.
Thanks for the comments though guys.

    Just so everyone knows.

Tonights game starts at 8pm, extra 1k for players in their seats when the game starts.

Also i thinking about running a league similar to the one i run in my pub tournaments.

The league will run over 25-30 weeks

€200 - €250 held back from prize pool pre night.

Players need to earn 2500 chips or more to qualify for League Final

    Chips awarded as follows
    1st 2500
    2nd 2250
    3rd 2000
    4th 1750
    5th 1500
    6th 1250
    7th 1000
    8th 750
    9th 500
    10th 250

The more chips you earn the more chips you start with on the league final.

1st Place Ticket to EPT Dublin worth €5000

    Any thoughts?

Very 1st hand, Tom gets AK off goes all in, Murtagh Ward with KK and Niall Lynch with 99 get all in as well.

Ace on the turn (maybe river), and up to 21k.

A couple of rounds later with the blinds at 2k-4k, Tom is back down to 9k. It's folded around to Tom on the CO and he goes all in with Ax, its folded to the BB who is also on Ax (but is winning) and folds.

After the hand is over the SB asks the BB why he folded, to which he replies i wasn't going to risk it for another 19k (thinking it was going to cost him most of his stack).

Not sure about last week but the first few weeks, it started about 10 past 8 which was not too bad.

I think you have to be there before it starts to get the extra chips anyway!!
