right, although a cold snap was predicted all week and there was supposed to be vast supplies of grit in the depot, kildare county council decided the main road in and out of the town wasnt an important enough road to grit...so as a result, tomorrow is in the balance for me

Unless the roads get gritted, I'm bailing, not putting my Dad in any danger just so I can play soldiers, there's always next week!

Lads seriously, those who are heading up, be careful, the roads are treacherous around Lucan and surrounding areas, so follow Stonewolfs advice, be safe and above all there's always next week.

Out my way the main roads are grand - but the side streets are sheet ice. But the main problem is that the road in my estate has turned into sheet ice with the cars driving over it today - so after being out of action for three weeks earlier this year when I went over on the ice and knackered my back, I'm bailing tomorrow too. Not because hrta would be dangerous - but because the 50 yards to my car (with kit bags) is lethal.

if you are coming out, come the main road, off the M1, and down the R129, as it was girted.
