http://www.garda.ie/Controller.aspx?Page=4135Marley Park Concerts 2009
Advice to those attending Marlay Park Concerts - Saturday and Sunday, the 1st and 2nd August 2009.
A number of concerts are due to take place in Marley Park this weekend - Saturday 1st August and Sunday 2nd.
Speaking about the concerts this evening (29th July) Superintendent Eamon Dolan of Tallaght Garda Station stated:
"I would appeal to concert-goers to allow plenty of time and plan for their journey, and avail of public transport where possible.
I would urge the concert-goers to comply with the directions of Gardai and stewards and to be mindful of the fact that there are many residents in the area."
Superintendent Dolan also wished those attending and travelling to the concerts an enjoyable and safe weekend.
General Information:
Directional signage will be placed on local approach and selected roads to the concert sites.
Dublin Bus will also run a shuttle return service from the City Centre to the concert site.
Parking:
All public and private transport including special needs parking will be directed to the only parking facility at the concert site which is situated at College Road, Rathfarnham.
M50 Access:
The nearest M50 Interchange for the concert site is the Ballinteer Interchange which is situated about 3km from the College Road Carpark.
Gardai would encourage concert attendants travelling to College Road carpark from Southbound M50 to use the following route:
Exit at Scholarstown Interchange
Scholarstown Road
Taylor's Lane
Whitechurch Road
College Road
Gardai are encouraging those travelling to the concert to use this route as many will be travelling during peak times and this will help to avoid cogestion on the M50.
Gardai are recommending a route from Ranelagh through Clonskeagh, Goatstown, Sandyford, M50 Interchange and onto Grange Road as the most suitable route.
Dublin Bus will also run a shuttle return service from the City Centre to the concert site.0 -
