    I have a 97 and a 00.

I'll be going back to driving my 97 safrane in the next couple of weeks as I'm due taxback from last year and can now afford to tax the car.:)

I selected 10/11 in the poll.

My old Volvo 740 is 1992, recently went over 200,000 which I am told is not totally uncommon with older Volvos. Running very well. :)

My car is 91. I find the attitude in Ireland towards the age of peoples cars hilarious. Many times, when people discuss their cars, the conversation will go like this
a - "What type of car is it?"
    b - "Oh its an 06"
    a- "Very nice"

Many people are embarrassed if their car is older than 00 now, what would the neighbours think, etc

Nail on head there... Have commented on it many times! Used to get on my nerves until I realised that's why you can buy fantastic older cars in this country for silly money. The insiduous alfa smear campaign helps too :D

    PS Driving a '98 - upgrade from a '00!

1991 Toyota Sera. Again with more gadgets than you get with cars of its size brand new! I'm certain it will be going just as well in another 16 years. Don't get much year snobbery as its a bit unique.

1995, up from a '93 after an unfortunate incident with a timing chain and an exploded engine.

I've 2000 VW Bora - Mrs. crosstownk drives it now that I've company 2006 Zafira. Only 45,000 miles on the Bora - but it's in the workshop getting cured of that awfully annoying piston slap.

'94 Ford Granada (155,000 miles and still surprisingly solid, needs valve oil seals though and a head gasket, but i wouldnt trade it for a newer car it suits me just fine and actually that's the first time in 25,000 miles i've had to do anything with it apart from services) and a '93 granada also which is waiting for a new gearbox...

They may be old and scruffy but i love them and i have no desire to get anything newer or more flashy.

That's probably one of the most fun cars I have ever seen mentioned on this site. Great to see you keeping her going !
(Sorry for being all nostalgic and ot, as I learned to drive in one of these)

93 Corolla 210,000 miles had it for 12 years. great car servicing and timing belt change was all I ever did. However, NCT is due in a few months and I know at least one of the callipers will have to be replaced so I'm not sure that it going to be worth getting it through the NCT. Wife has a 03 avensis,

It might be too early to draw conclusions from the results, but so far it looks like most cars are scrapped when they are around 11 to 12 years old. Anyone else see any trends from the results? Great poll!
