The gravy thing is surreal and serves no purpose but the chicken is sublime in Jervis...

I agree KFC is some pretty nasty stuff. I have never been able to figure out why the worst American junk foods become global successes while the best American foods go largely unnoticed.

As far as locations go... http://www.kfc.co.uk/store-locator/

    Happy 40th Birthday, KFC Ireland!!:):pac:

The first ever Kentucky Friend Chicken outlet in Ireland opened in the (then) new Phibsboro Shopping Centre in December 1971. The taste for southern fried chicken quickly caught on in Ireland and within a few years KFC had opened a few more outlets. An Irish imitator, Pat Grace's Fried Chicken also sprang up.

But KFC's presence in Ireland has been intermittent and patchy, unlike McDonalds for instance. After growth in the 1970s, KFC stagnated and went downhill in the 1980s and by the early 1990s had completely closed in the Republic.

Meanwhile, KFC's presence in the North was strong and in the 1990s the Northern Ireland group in charge of KFC began opening outlets in the Republic, heralding KFC's return to Ireland.

    Finger licking good!!:D:D:D

Hillybilly's always seems horrendously overpriced. Tasty chicken though.

I haven't been there in a while, so not sure if its still the case, but they used to do 2 for 1 snack boxes on Tuesdays

That they do still do, very good indeed.

Does anyone know when and why KFC in Bray closed?

This is a very old thread Miseryguts & you're more likely to get answers to this in the Wicklow forum. You can find it here

    Closing off zombie thread.
