Everybody knows that only a fool bets on International Friendlies so at the risk of being called a fool Pighead gives you

Ivory Coast V Sweden @ 6/4: This is my bet of the week and even though its a friendly I think theres great value in betting on the Ivory Coast. It was 7/4 this morning and I reckon it'll be near Evens by Kick Off. The reason for the dropping price would seem to be Swedens squad (or lack of one). Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kim Källström, Tobias Linderoth, Anderas Isaksson, Johan Elmander, Marcus Allbäck and Anders Svennson are all missing. Freddie Ljunberg is also an almost definite non starter. Ivory Coast have a full team to choose from (Drogba and all) and from what Iseen in the World Cup they're a very decent side. Pigheads snatching the 6/4 before it shortens!

Macclesfield V Walsall @ 4/9(DNB): Top against Bottom here in the FA Cup qualifier. Walsall have already beaten Macclesfield 2-0 this season in the league. Theres a massive 32 points between the teams. The away win would seem a formality. However although i don't think Walsall will lose the draw is still a possibility what with the match being on SKY and Paul Ince now in charge the home side may up their game. Reckon Walsall can take them again but I'm gonna go for the safer 4/9(DNB)

Waterford V Derry City @2/5: Another must win for Derry in one of Stephen Kennys final matches as manager. Waterford lie bottom and in the past 4 meetings between the sides Derry have won 3. Derry aren't in the best of form but they battled hard away to St Pats last Friday and ground out a 1-0 win and i reckon they could do something similar tonight.

Havant and W V Millwall @1/2: Millwall are struggling in League 1 but they should be able to take care of Conference South Midtable side Havant. 3 leagues seperate the teams. Although they're in the relegation zone, Millwall have been in great form recently and their past 7 games read LWDLWWW.

    Pigheads Midweek Accumulator:
    30 Points: Ivory Coast, Walsall(DNB), Derry, Millwall.= 7/1
20 Points: Hearts@1/1, Ivory Coast, Derry, Mlada Boleslav@4/9=9/1

    Good Luck To All.

Pighead - agree with your assessment but would even go further and improve your overall odds by taking Derry to win to nil @ 6/5. If Derry are to win this, I can't see Waterford scoring, especially with Ford high on confidence after saving the penalty the other night.

Good call Yoursomelanger. Derry win 1-0. Derry it must be said were extremely lucky tonight. Played terribly by all acounts. Waterford were denied a stone wall penalty in the 92nd minute, Derry go up the other end of the pitch and score with a Mark Farren volley 40 seconds past the alloted 3 mins of injury time. Everybody who bet on Derry tonight can count themselves blessed! Pighead thinks Derry could be destined to win the league this year.

Walsall get a man sent off and end up scoreless with Macclesfield. Lucky enough Pighead had the DNB so thats scratched off the bet. Millwall win 2-1 which leaves Ivory Coast with the task of making Bet 1 a success. Bet 2 fails due to Hearts conceding a late Falkirk equalizer. Bet 1 is a 5/1 shot now due to Walsall getting scratched off. Come on Didier!

AUSTRALIA's disrupted preparations for tomorrow morning's (AEDT) friendly against Ghana in London have been further complicated by reports the Socceroos are unhappy with the timing of the match.
    http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,20751574-5003460,00.html

    Ghana Squad:
Sammy Adjei (Mohadon Sports Ashdod, Israel), Richard Kingson (BB Ankaraspor, Turkey).

Hans Adu Sarpie (VFL Wolfsburg, Germany), John Paintsil (West Ham, England), Francis Dickoh (FC Utrecht, Holland), Eric Addo (PSV Eindhoven, Holland), Habib Mohammed (Molde FK, Norway).

Stephen Appiah (Fenerbache, Turkey), Michael Essien (Chelsea, England), Laryea Kingson (Locomitiv Moscow, Russia) Sulley Ali Muntari (Udinese, Italy), Haminu Dramani (Genclerbirligi, Turkey).

Junior Agogo (Nottingham Forest, England), Peter Ofori-Quaye (OFI Crete, Greece), Asamoah Gyan (Udinese, Italy), Razak Pimpong (FC Copenhagen), Derek Asamoah (Shrewsbury, England).

    Australia squad:
John Aloisi (Alaves, Spain), Michael Beauchamp (Nuremberg, Germany), Mark Bresciano (Palermo, Italy), Scott Chipperfield (Basel, Switzerland), Jason Culina (PSV Eindhoven, Netherlands), Brett Emerton (Blackburn Rovers, England), Vince Grella (Parma, Italy), Ryan Griffiths (Rapid Bucharest, Romania), Brett Holman (NEC Nijmegen, Netherlands), Patrick Kisnorbo (Leicester City, England), Craig Moore (Newcastle United, England), Michael Petkovic (Sivasspor, Turkey), Mark Schwarzer (Middlesbrough, England), Shane Stefanutto (SK Lillestrom, Norway), Mile Sterjovski (Basel, Switzerland), Michael Thwaite (Wisla Krakow, Poland), Kasey Wehrman (SK Lillestrom, Norway), Luke Wilkshire (FC Twente, Netherlands).

    Matches since WC:
Australia (AUS) 2:0 (2:0) Bahrain (BHR) - Asian Nations Cup 2007 Prel. Comp.
Australia (AUS) 1:1 (0:0) Paraguay (PAR) - Friendly
Kuwait (KUW) 2:0 (0:0) Australia (AUS) - Asian Nations Cup 2007 Prel. Comp.
Australia (AUS) 2:0 (0:0) Kuwait (KUW) - Asian Nations Cup 2007 Prel. Comp.

Korea Republic (KOR) 1:3 (0:0) Ghana (GHA) - Friendly
Japan (JPN) 0:1 (0:0) Ghana (GHA) - Friendly
Ghana (GHA) 2:0 (0:0) Togo (TOG) - Friendly

    ---

I'm definitely on Ghana here. It's on neutral ground and the bookies can't really split them. Australia are without Viduka, Kewell, Skoko, Cahill, Lucas Neil, and Scott McDonald (Craig Moore is doubtful). Ghana were excellent at the world cup against Italy, Czechs and USA and most of those players are in the squad. Appiah and Essien have a world class partnership in midfield.

    The match is streamed here:

I'd never bet against Israel at home. 1X would be my choice.

    Sweden line up announced:

Shaaban (Fredrikstad FK); Nilsson (Panathinaikos), Edman (Stade Rennais), Hansson (SC Heerenveen), Majstorovic (FC Basel); Wilhelmsson (FC Nantes), Ericsson (Brøndby IF), Andersson (Malmö FF), Fredrik Ljungberg (Arsenal) FC; Nilsson (SC Heerenveen), Markus Rosenberg (AFC Ajax).

This match is in France and will be like a home match for Ivory Coast.

Excellent decision to take Doyle off after an hour by Mr Staunton! With Doyle off the pitch, Keane easily beat him 3 goals to 1. Referee made Pighead sweat a bit by brandishing 2 Yellows in the final 20 mins but thankfully there were no more and the bet is a success.

Unbelievably Bet 2 is a failure. Fair play to Given for saving those 2 screaming efforts by the San Marino all action striker!

Don't worry Glenbhoy, we can save your acca.

Now, open up a www.goalslive.com browser. Pighead will do the same.

Stare at your screen for the next 20 mins and chant in a low monotone voice "Score Spain You Fcuking Cnuts". Pighead will do the same.

I am almost sure between the two of us we can muster up a Spanish goal. Watch in amazement as the screen expoldes in a red GOALLLLLLL.

Thanks Pighead, Congrats on your winning bets too. Well Done.

I wasn't overly confident about my Acca so I kept my stake low however it turned out to be a very good night.

Doyle scored a nice header, Drogba did the business for the Ivory Coast to give them a 1-0 win. Austria beat Trinidad 4-1 and Croatia beat Israel 4-3, I think thats the 1st time Israel have been beaten at home in 8 years.
