Well how many nights in the month do you go out?

I spend at least €100 anytime I go out on what I dont know.

Guess double vodka and red bull at about €14 a pop sure would put hole in pocket.

It's well for some who can afford that...

If people would just have a couple when they're out it's not too bad I guess

Also the Irish have a great knack of getting into rounds and getting shafted by the cute whore that always avoids it!

I remember when I was drinking it will always end up that way, we'd always get a round each bar one person who was 'in the toilets' - its an expensive way to scocialise.

I'm off the drink for a while now, i'm gonna take the opportunity to get my tongue pierced.

Drunkeness does nothing for me anymore, i got hammered last night and Immediately proceeded to sober myself up because it felt crap, complete waste of money tbh.

I gave up drink for a week once and i looked and felt ****e the whole week.

DOnt like being drunk so can just have a few but my body tells me when i need a break and i can do without it then as i just dont feel like it.

I used to hate those cringy days when you make a show of yourself or just basically act like a prick the night before, and the depression that followed when you couldnt face anyone - god i DO NOT miss those days. My friend specifically goes out to get drunk i actually try to avoid it!!

DId anyone hear of a new website (irish) where you can log the amount you drink and have your own little diary??

Heard it on the radio last week but forget the name its the national drink council or something :o

You don't have to be off the drink to get your tongue pierced. I have it done and drank the next day, they tell you not to but I'm still alive ;)

"A young man died yesterday after drinking a pint of beer the day after getting his tounge pierced. The piercer was quoted as saying 'I told him over and over, do NOT drink for a minimum of two weeks. I don't know what could have made him think what he was doing was a smart idea. My condolences to the parents.' "

I've been off it since August roughly and it's great. Get the craving alright if the rest of the lads are drinking but I'm trying to get back fit after injury so it's making a huge difference. It's crazy how much you save as well.

I find now that hangovers are increasingly affecting me emotionally these days. When I've been drunk the night before, particularly with people I don't know too well, I spend the next day in a depression. I can't stop thinking about the stupid things that I said/did, and I really rag on myself. I'm sure I'm probably the only one who cares, but it really gets to me. As a result, I really don't think I'm going to get drunk very often anymore.

Even reading that I get flashbacks - the sort that make you want to put your fingers in your ears and think about yellow elephants and sing LALALALALALALALALALALALALALA really loudly until the memory goes away.

I also drink less of late because of the above, but it's only really started bothering me in the last year.

€800 a month is not surprising to me. My average monthly spend would is €1400 which is something I'm not proud of and am trying to address. This is coupled with a monthly mortgage of €1300. My problem is I can stay in for a whole weekend no problem but if I go out on a Thurdsay or Friday that is me gone ballistic for the rest of the weekend including Sundays.
Singledom & Boredom are large contributors but not good enough excuses I accept.

I used to try and go off it before the summer exams each year. Went on a mad one last weekend, but i tend to drink less than average i think.
