Personally i am a big fan of hugs. I think they are legend and at the right time can make a massive difference to people. As such when i saw this i thought it was legend, to be honest.

I did a speech on hugs in public speaking, and I put this as a reference in my speech.:)

Hugs are the best.

I love this video. I can't understand why the police banned them from doing it.

Best bits are the skateboarder doing their trick and then hugging the dude, or the girl hugging the police officer.

Would be fascinating to see if you can pull off the same thing here.

Basically they would have gotten some complaints about it, maybe off shop owners or other business in the area so they had to step in. The joy of living in a country with an actual petition system means that once a petition is accepted as legitimate, maybe due to a possible infringement over basic rights etc, that enough signatures means you can get back to hugging people and maybe brighten up someones day.

I would be well up for giving that a go on Grafton St and seeing what happens. I reckon i would simply get laughed at or given abuse, but i reckon i could get one hug out of it!!!!

TO be honest, i'm more than able to take care of myself should people want to act up a little.....but i have faith in the power of hugs to turn any situation around!

Heya Cathy,

really sorry to hear that. When i was 18 a friend of mine was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and the Chemo would really kick his ass....he was a crazy metal fan and had this savage long hair which started to fall out. I think at times he felt that was worse than the tumour.

You may notice that i was using the past tense there, well to fill you in it's not because he passed away, it's because he has since become a yuppie and cut his hair!!

Anyway, keep fighting and you'll win....no one seems to say it but people do survive this type of thing all the time. We're all here for computer hugs whenever you need them

Thanks to everyone for the hugs earlier, they were really appreciated...now I feel embarassed that I got so upset, sorry, am fine now and have a new wig...got my remaining hair really short and feel sufficiently like my hero Kylie with it (really short hair suits me much to my suprise). Well in that case you have made a very exclusive list. To date, i have only 3 women on the list of "still cute as hell with short hair" and they are

1) Kylie
2) Natalie Portman
3) Demi Moore
