I suppose (haven't read your thread on that) that some people feel that there is not only good energy out there but bad as well, just as there are good and bad people, and that if not prepared for it we could face psychological damage in some form or another. Personally I have not been faced with something truly evil, maybe mis-understood a couple of times through fear but nothing that would do me intentional harm. I think its kinda like people saying just cause you have a car does not mean you can drive.

I think what 6th said about the investigations is a good way to start into something like this with sense of course.

But what kind? Can they inflict you with multiple personality disorder? Make you paranoid schizophrenic? Can they remove your ability to feel love/fear or whatever?

Or is the only example mind breaking terror. In which case, is it really something they do as opposed to something that happens when a human gets really really scared.


I suppose the best way to explain it would be to ask if there is anything that could result from an evil ghost encounter that couldn't happen from any terrifying encounter, such as a bear attack or a car crash?

No, not really. In Charleville castle there was a particular corridor that scared the absolute crap out of me (repeatidly) but thats about it.

I honestly dont know, but take maybe the school yard bully who uses verbal abuse instead of say a puch or a kick, this has known to have an effect on the their target in a more psychological sence than phycial, who caused it the bully or the person been targeted.

Mind breaking terror, is probally the only real answer anyone can give without having experienced any phycial scars to show us.

In a bear attack or car crash where the victim has not been injured bodily or even if they have they may retain mental scars from the incident itself, by reliving it through nightmares etc.

I guess what i am trying to say is until we can prove that spirits do exist we cannot determine what there effect is directly on us but imagine if you are standing in front of an image or feeling something which you believe to be an evil or bad force causing it, the effect it has on that person is unique in that no two people act or react the same, but none the less real to that person. This is where I feel protection or the mind state of protection is vital to the person entering a haunted location.

I dont know if that is kinda dancing around the subject but it is the only way I could explain it in my own opinion.
