I missed out so much :(

    I'm so upset...

Talking to ninty9er this evening and felt I should have been there as a n00b to support him...Ah well. It's ok. I'll wait til I'm back from Erasmus, otherwise it'll have to be the Lodge tonight (Thurs) for my going-away...Anyone interested, please join at aforementioned location.

Well, actually, on the pedantic side of things it should have been your money's worth. Just to let you know :o:o:o:D:D:D

    Would that not make it

    money is worth

Which dosen't make any sense in the context of the given sentence

No, absolutely not! The 's also signifies ownership. So, in this case, the "money" owns its worth, or value, and therefore demands an, " 's" :D

But, it's good to see that I'm indoctrinating you. Maybe you'll join the little-known UL Grammar Soc!

Well it's clear you know more about grammar then me, So I'll politely bow out of this pseudo-war and maybe just try a bit harder in future to mind my words!

And also not correct anyone, when she clearly knows what she's saying!

Ah now. I don't hold it against anyone who genuinely makes mistakes due to the void in our education system in grammatical teachings. I'm not prejudiced against that sort of thing. But, at the same time, hail to the comma and the they're/their/there debate!!

    Possessive. Possessive dammit!

(or technically, something like a possessive noun phrase preceded by a noun with an enclitic modifier where the latter syntactically functions as a free morpheme)

Peteee's grammar. The grammar of Peteee.

Woohoo minus the military wings - we're a feckin' group of people who like commas and apostrophes: we might get violent about the usage of italics but we won't shoot you over it. ;)

Exactly! That little comma made the panda bear angry! See what can happen when one makes an error like that?!

I'm also somewhat impressed that you've read, Eats, Shoots and Leaves. It's a classic. Best Christmas present I've ever gotten. :o
