    Hey folks,

Just wondering if any of ye have ever been on any of these things, and what was it about? :D

Were ya interviewed by RTE News? Did ya phone up the Adrian Kennedy Phone Show (shame on you)? Were you pictured coming out of court? :D

I got a phone-call a few days after the O'Connell Street riots in February, from a researcher on the Orla Barry morning show on Newstalk 106. I had emailed them my own account of what I saw, and they obviously linked it with some texts I've sent in to various shows in Newstalk.
They were tryin to get me onto the show to talk to Orla and tell her what I saw -- but I wussed out! :D:o

I started this thread cos I'm after getting a message sent to my YouTube account from somebody supposedly linked with the Irish Star, cos they are interested in having an article of some sort in this weekend's paper, and my video somehow links in there. I emailed the person, so hopefully tomorrow I'll find out what the deal is

    So what's ye'r stories?

ps., no smart-ass answers about being "on the TV"! :D

Got an article in the paper before. My sister has been more fortunate, having been on the front of 3 national papers in one day, pictured coming out of a high profile funeral.

TV, it was a documentary where rthey were filming on the reek and me in my Order of Mlata uniform collecting money. It was showed about three times on RTÉ1

RADIO, twice or three times, but my absoloute favourite is when we rang Santa Claus who had come into Mid West Radio for the day, and me waited in line to get through to him, and when I did...(On Live Radio), got sacrcastic with him, and started swearing at him...he didn't know where I lived at that time though ;)...

Newspaper, Many times. On Nation al papers, once. On Local/Regional newpapers, rarely. My Primary school, when i was in sixth class, asked that i become a technical assistant for them...I did many things for them, and was pictured(me, my laptop), for creating a slide show...One achievment I'm proud of.

Leaflets. In the Edmund Rice International monthly newslatter, i was shown with my Students Council. It was a fairly big picture that took up about 40% of the A3 size sheet, and i was sitting there looking like a 14 year old politician(which i am :D)

those long drives could get boring, so me and my friends would ring up and make up completely ridiculous stories to keep ourselves amused between picking up hitchhikers.

I was on the Just a Minute Quiz with Larry Gogan years ago. I got the joint highest score and won a plaque and a cassette of the 3 Tenors concert at the World Cup in 1990. I've had e-mails and texts read out on radio, and had letters and photos I've taken published in a magazine. I've been on TV too, but not primetime viewing. Lots of little bits of fame. :)

I got a bunch of my letters printed over the years, some a paragraph, others whole pages and I've been on the radio before having a chat about the century's greatest inventions.

Been on TV just once back in 1999 on German Television where I sang one of my songs and was interviewed - total length of me on TV: 12 minutes (nearly 15 minutes of fame).

Been on radio a lot over the years. Biggest thrill for me was to be featured on a radioshow in Japan last year.

Well I work with a radio station so I'm on air every now and again... including being interviewed tj-music.com's radio show a few weeks back. I'm not overly fond of presenting on air, but if necessary I will fill in from time to time.

I've been interviewed in the national press a good few times too... mostly in relation to my podcasting work (not the boards.ie one though, ha.)

And I was on TV a couple of times back in the 90's while trying to promote a crazy political campaign I was involved in. I've also been in a few documentaries and I was even on a pilot for a new quiz show that was never aired.

I was photographed and interviewed in The Star/Mirror or something during the time I did my Leaving Cert during the World Cup and we missed the Ireland Germany game.

Was in the local paper loads of times.

Made it onto a 3 min slot for my birthday on Galway Bay FM, DJ visited my house and interviewed me.

Was on The Den's Joke Box years ago. Couple seconds on Nationwide when I shook hands with the Presidenté, Mary Robinson. I was also on the TV during telethon, we cut the school football pitch with a scissors. (Fúckers told us to say that we were from Galway and not Tuam)

Gave a speech on TV about Sellafield, but its not an experience I'm eager to repeat!

Was on the news not long ago flying a kite, but you can't really see me.

Been in the college paper, but it really wasn't that hard to get published!

I was also in the Pheonix after a youth conference I was at in Switzerland caused a **** storm back in Ireland.

Been in the paper loads of times, mainly during Shels games in Europe. Best one I have is up the north on July 13th standing beside a female cop who has a gun in her hand. Also made The Sun's backpage :):o:o:o:o:o

Bee in the Tallaght Echo numerous times all soccer related.

Have been in the tabloids a few times two from mostly Ireand games and away trips.

Best one evr though was Submarine bar 2002 for the World Cup. Sky news did a live broadcast before, during and after the Ireland matches. It consisted of interviewing fans etc. We were outside after the German game and some baldy chap was being interviewed. We were directly behind him and my mates from inside the bar rang us and said we were on the Big screen in the pub(and obviously every other screen with Sky news). My mate proceeded to lick the top of the baldy guys head mid-interview. Everyone was wetting themselves laughing and my mate got a great ovation when we went back into the pub. Ya gotta love live TV.

Was briefly on TV3 news 2 weeks ago. Darren Frehil interviewed us before the German game in Stuttgart

When I was in school I bunked off to get tickets for a concert. Queued for hours outside HMV in Henry Street. I was the first to get a ticket, so my photo duly appeared in the Irish Times.
Totally hung by the teachers in school who bought the paper and by my auntie who posted it to my Mam & Dad!

Ever been on the TV? Radio? In the newspaper?

Radio - Yup, I have been on the radio tonnes of times, many different stations, as a guest, or even just as a prize winner, and I've done a bit of community radio, and have my own show on an on-line radio station.

TV - Yup, when I was 16/17 I used to review albums for popscene on Network 2, I have also done a bit of TV and Movie extras, and filled a fair few audience seats in my time.

Newspaper - Yup, as a kid I was always in the papers, because I did Irish dancing and drama and singing and all that jazz, and my pushy mother was forever arranging for me to have my picture taken.
I used to write for my parish newsletter when I was 11/12 (no joke - I wanted to be a journalist). I have had a few letters printed in the Herald (no great achievement, I know :p ) and I have had loads of venue/ restaurant and gig reviews published in a certain event guide magazine.

Used to be in the local paper quite a lot when I was younger, when I played more football.
Was in the paper again recently (nothing special, just right place at the right time), unfortunately looking like someone told me I only had a month to live :o
