I am loving the shoes in Penneys lately tbh, their high heels have really come on in leaps and bounds imo!

Was in Primark in Belfast last week and honestly, I will never even bother going into Penney's again! The difference in quality is staggering. I bought two dresses that look like they're from French Connection or Oasis. The clothes are displayed nicely and there's room to actually move around the different rails.

I honestly don't understand why their buyers in the Republic are so crap! Are they all grannies because it's rare you'd see anything fashionable in Penneys!

In Primark in Leicester and Nottingham I have bought some really lovely dresses and skirts that haven't been available here...even the fabric you would find stuff in A Wear made out of it.

Bought a pair of leather boots there a fortnight ago and have worn them everyday they are so comfy and also waterproof..love:)

I was in Penneys in the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre this evening and as I'm not a regular visitor to the store, I was amazed at the prices of the clothes (mens)

Combats 17 euro, T-shirts from 3 euro, Jackets 25 euro etc. Most of the stuff was under 20 euro and seemed to be decent quality.

Now I'm not a slave to fashion and don't care too much about labels...not alone there I presume?...so for fellas (didn't check out the ladies dept.) who want decent clothes for day to day wear, you can't beat Penneys?

I would be interested in opinions from the more fashion conscious out there.

yeah, Penneys can have very good stuff in it - have an everyday coat for 4 years now, and it's still fine! When it was new, people assumed I spent quite a bit of dosh (at least €70), but when I told them I got it for €13,:eek::eek:! Another coat I have is more formal in style and it looks very sharp - what sort of dosh??? €35 in Pennys! Got a real nice shirt recently for - wait for it - a whopping €5!!! ...and that's one with decent sleeves in it - no shortcuts! :D

All in all, there will be times that there's nothing much in store, but Pennys is always a place you wouldn't pass by - it's always worth a look!

    Regards!

I got a pair of gorgeous grey skinny jeans in Primark in London a few weeks ago- I've been living in them since, go with everything and they were only £8! bargain!

I keep finding really nice coats on sale for 9 euro in penneys recently, it's like they're trying to win back my affections after all the sparkly skangery crap! :D

I got a gorgeous grey military coat for 15 quid a couple of weeks ago.

Their shoes are terrible lately if, like me you don't like heels, and the majority of their accessories are super tacky

Was up in Newry last month and I was shocked to discover they stock the clothes up to a SIZE 20 over the border.

Now, why can't they do that down here in Dublin?

I'm 5 foot 11, a size 14-16 on top and a size 18 on the bottom, yet whenever I try on those sizes in a Dublin-based Penneys, the only thing that'll fit me tends to be of the dress variety or comes from the men' s department.
Unless you're built like a rake, their clothing is just not realisticly cut to fit the average lady.

Whilst I'm on the subject: Why are all the Size 10/ EUR 44 shoes confined to the men?! Not everyone has teeny feet!

Urgh. I see so many lovely things in Penneys and I can't wear about 90% of 'em save for the underwear.

Oh, to have an Evans with Penney's prices....

We are obviously looking in totally different Penneys at the moment! I HATE the shoes at the moment, but love, love the clothes. Went on a spree in Tralee today- the Penneys there is fantastic!

Bought a black v neck boyfriend jumper with sequinned shoulders, so soft and comfy for 15 euro and grey skinny jeans with zip detail, absolutely gorgeous and a fantastic fit for 19 euro.

Also bought a blue/white blazer, kind of preppy style- blue with white trim on the lapels- looks like it cost a fortune but was 15 euro.

Also :o bought a couple of tops that were on clearance- a long line vest, blue with sequins and a white blouse with frill detail all down the front- 4 euro each.

All set now for christmas! There were some gorgeous dresses too, on clearance but had to restrain myself.:(

i do lik pennys but i am kinda snobby lik i think the fake river island bags are horrid. i buy lots of generic stuff ther lik cardigans but id rather not buy the real "pennys pennys" stuff, unless i love it. when i go into pennys for a spree i keep pickin up things cos your thinkin ah its cheap but when you get to the till it all adds up and its lik 100euro and your lik whoa, id rather go somewhere else and buy somethin good for a bit more than go to pennys and buy 10 things just cos ther cheap. its like sale shopping, if you buy something just cos its cheap its a false economy and your not saving anything.

I really don't like Penneys. I never seem to like any of their stuff, the one nearest me seems to just be really, really tacky. I hate having the same thing as everyone else as well. I just don't understand buying a (cheap) top that will only last a few months max. I'd rather spend my money on clothes I'll wear for a while.

Well I get bored of clothes really quickly so I love being able to pick up new stuff every couple of months! Obviously I have good staples that I spend money on but I'd never spend a load of money on a cardigan or vest top.

Thats fair enough. I like keeping the same clothes and just updating it every now and then. I do have a tiny wardrobe though.

I find penneys cardigans to be excellent, pretty much every cardigan I have is penneys, and I find theyre warmer and last longer than ones ive had from topshop

All those quilted bags are just Chanel rip-offs anyway, don't see how they're 'fake River Island'
